Connect the park brake wire to a power supply. Install a switch in the power supply wire you just hooked up. Put DVD in and when warning comes up, turn switch on then off. this will bypass the switch.

My avh-p4000 dvd is not displaying video when i insert dvd's I only recieve audio is there a switch that I need to set to get both audio and video

there is a light green wire that needs to go to the parking brake. video will not work unless the parking brake is on. this is for safety reasons and it is illegal for the driver to view videos while driving.

ground the wire to a hot (ie power comes to the wire) switch in your dash, like a rear window defroster or seat heater. turn the switch on then off and it will trick the system into thinking you activated the parking brake.

Watch a dvd while driving pioneer AVH-P4000 DVD

Hi Dave
No ....go to a hardware store buy a toggle switch than get a single speaker wire (small wire) attach it to the red wire on the back of your pioneer deck (make sure to leave the red wire in back of deck as well) and attach it to the power on the toggle switch do the same with the black wire (ground wire) the black wire will go into the toggle switch under the power wire. finally install the parking break wire from the pioneer unit to the last slot on toggle switch and this should do the trick if not swap the ground spot for the brake spot on toggle switch >>>> MAKE SURE THE TOGGEL SWITCH HAS 3 HOOK UPS to do this correctly (your system will provide sound with the toggle switch off (Blue Screen) but when toggle switch is on you get video while driving) good luck
