I have logitech z4 speakers don't get any sound from my laptop computer what do i do to fix it?

The crackling could be due to a faulty wire or jack connection. If you have any other sound device (e.g. headphones), try connecting that one instead of the Z4 and see whether the crackling disappears (in which case it's the Z4) or not (in which case it's the jack or the computer). Could arguably be an EM or electrical interference, but you'd need a laptop running on batteries to check the second, and trying orienting differently the speakers to try checking the first.

The music slowing down means something's wrong in the computer: the Z4 are purely passive, they can't do anything to the music tempo. Try running an antivirus check or try Task Manager (or Process Explorer) and see whether anything's eating more CPU than it should.

Try setting the speakers as default on your computer first
Right click on the speaker icon in the system tray and open 'Playback Devices'
If you have 2 sets of speakers I would expect to see them displayed here with one set checked as default
Click on the set of speakers you want to set as default and Click 'Properties'
Click tab 'use this device enable' click 'Apply' and 'OK'
Open the sound tab again right click on the speaker icon and 'test'
All OK ?
Restart your computer and configure to the chat program

If you have a newer model computer chances are you'd be getting the best sound quality now. If you want to improve the quality some look into sound cards at most tech retailers.

If your TV has a headphone socket, then plug the speakers into there, then (you have to do this for some TVs, but not others), go into the set-up menu and turn the headphone volume to 70%. Switch on the Z4 and sound should come out, assuming all connections are correct.

Please click on the Volume icon in the system tray and make sure that the speakers or other volumes are not muted. Windows has a habit of muting things on its own. And unless there is sound going to the speakers the headphone jack on the front of speakers will not function.

go control panel and click speaker and sound option look setin option and set it,

Reconnect all the wirings in your speaker set. Be sure you connect all the cords properly.

Open
Startmenu->control panel->sound and audio devices
Do you see a window which says "no audio devices installed" ?

• If yes then its a driver problem, you need to install audio driver for your PC.
• if no then, click on "Speaker volume button" below, then click "restore defaults" button.

This should fix the problem.
Otherwise I would suggest some more.

turns out, you can just plug into the headphones plug and just restart the program you want to listen to and the music blasted through the speakers. worked liked a charm.
