Make sure the pins are not bent on the vga cable. If the pins are nice and straight and you still have a white screen then go ahead and try another known good monitor. If the known good monitor works then you know the original monitior is bad and its probably a bad screen.

If it doesn't work then the video card is bad.

Hello i have a 19'' white westinghouse lcd computer monitor and it all white, is there anything i can do, i have already checked the green board and capacitators and what not and eveything tested fine, is...

chapp29, You didn't tell me the brand name of the electrolytic filter capacitors that are on your monitors "switch-mode-power-supply / cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp-ballast" circuit board. How did you measure (check) the capacitors? Are any of the rubber seals pushed out of the bottom of any capacitors? What is the "date of manufacture" of this unit? Will L1916HW work connected to a different "known-good" pc? Will "known-good" monitor work ok when connected to your pc? 12fixlouie

My monitor will not shut down - screen stays white

You got a short circuit in one transistor located at the inverter area. The transistor is acting like a conductor and not shutting down the power to the back light inverter. If you are a technician and want to fix it, look for short circuits in transistors.

Good luck.

2 monitors down in 2 days! Planned Obsolescence?

It could be a computer problem
The only way would be to test the computer on another monitor and the current monitors on another computer.
Then you will see which has failed.

Audio and picture quit working on white westinghouse lcm-17v8

If you haven't figured it out yet through a web search, Westinghouse monitoris have problems with blown caps on the power supply board. If you are lucky the problem is minimal and won't require more than replacement of the caps. You won't know until/unless you open the case and inspect the power supply board.

Sylvania (proview) cl2072b flat panel monitor

Well the first and second paragraphs make me say the Inverter/power board must be replaced.

A white display typically means either your display cable (in your monitor) is loose or logic board is dead.

Either one of these things typically mean take it in for an estimate to repair, and if it's too much, buy a new one.
With your luck I think I might switch to big cheap CRT.

Westinghouse lcd monitor 19" - screen turns white

I have the same problem with my LCD tv... The DVI-D (white connector in the back) and the D-SUB (connector on main-board next to the DVI-D) work great for my computer. However, the antenna returns only a white screen no matter what I plug into with it using a coaxial cable. Judging by the modular configuration on the TV (1 main board with LCD monitor attached to it and the 2 computer inputs, and a smalled board on the back with the antenna, component video, S-video, mini-jack out, and composite video.) I think the smaller board which I believe is called a "NR Unit" is what has failed. I took off the back mini-panel of the TV off, which just slides off when you press down 2 tabs. And, I found the small board which is only held down by 5 small screws, and it pops right off. So, if you can find a NR board from westinghouse that works, it's a quick and easy (hopefully inexspensive) replacement. Hope this helped.
