I need the part number for the magneto assembly on an ht-17 homelite trimmer. also where do I find a detailed breakdown of this for reassembly?

Go to Gardnerinc.com and click on consumer. Then click on partsmartweb. On the left side of this page change your selection from Kohler to Homelite Consumer Products and enter your model number. You have it as HT 17. This brings up a lot of different equipment so I would enter just part of the serial number or the ut number. This is located on the body of the trimmer on a silver tag.
This will take you to the parts illustration and parts list for your trimmer.

it sounds like your throttle cable is to long i have the same problem with mine... when starting up pull the throttle full on with your finger whilst you have it set on choke. best to do this on a very flat surface.

If this is Correct, then the Part Number is DA3001A.

Select the "Shaft-Spool and String-Grass Deflector" File. The Complete String Head is # 17 in the Breakdown.

Homelite Mightylite String Trimmer Piston removal

Homelite shows the short block assy ($84.02) but no breakdown of the top end. I've never taken one apart, not cost effective. Here's the link to their parts site. Have the UT number available

Go to www.homelite.com then in the red up top click on order parts then click launch to parts catalog then scroll down to accept agreement and then you will need to enter your model # and then you can go thru the list of breakdowns and get your part # from the diagrams.
