Why does the myzone headset we purchased not work, as the red light will not turn on?

1. Charge the headset:Headset is charged via USB cable, the light will be red when charging. When the battery is fully charged (about 2-3 hours), the red light of the headset will turn off automatically or the red light turns blue.
2. Turn on the headset:Press the on / talk button on the headset for about 5 seconds until the blue and red flashes alternately (or blue flashes or the blue lights all the time ), now the headset is ready to be connected to the iPhone.
3. Go to Settings, and tap Bluetooth. Turn on Bluetooth.
iPhone will automatically start searching for Bluetooth devices. Tap the device in the Devices list, then follow the onscreen instructions to connect to it. After matching successfully, the blue light on the headset will flash twice per time.
4. Call: when you finish all the above steps, you are going to talk via the Bluetooth headset. When there is incoming call, press the on / talk button, you can talk with Bluetooth headset, when you want to end the call, press the on / talk button, you can end the call.
5. Turn off the headset: Press the on / talk button for 5 seconds until the red light of the headset flashes quickly for twice, then release the button, the headset will be turned off.

I recently fixed my 955 headphones... it's probably not going to be attempted by most folks, but it saved a great set of headphones from being tossed and replaced.

Basically you need to remove the right side padding and take out the 3 screws. This gets you access to the battery. The battery is a standard 3.6V lithium battery. Pretty much the same that is in most cell phones and many small toys. You can simply replace the battery with something like:

Or... here's what I did... add a lithium USB charger to the battery.

Now, if the battery dies I can plug it into USB and the phone will work while it charges.

bose headset is not working the red light is not on

If you hold down the power button (and keep holding!) while wearing the headphones, you will hear three beeps (keep holding! If you lift your finger, you have wait a moment to start over) followed after a moment by two beeps. If you do this while the headset is NOT on, it will enter the "discoverable" mode and the lights should flash red/blue red/blue. If you do this while the headset is on, the second set of beeps sounds a little different, and those tones mean the headset is turning off.

The "manual" (a single sheet of paper) for this device is a joke, and website technical support is nonexistent.

When I first purchased mine, despite the poor instructions, I was satisfied, due to the low price. But I've only had the device for less than a month, and I've only used it three times, and suddenly I can't get it to pair with my laptop or my phone, though it had worked find a couple of weeks ago, last time I used it.

Sometimes you get what you pay for, I guess. Disappointing.

I would try the reset option listed in Plantronics user guide. Here are the steps for the reset and I will include the link to the user guide also.
Instructions to Perform a system reset:
While plugging in the AC charger, hold the power/pair button. The headphones will show a solid red or blue light when they have been successfully reset.

It sounds like it may be defective, not sure if that is correct. Try a different plug and make sure that it is secure in the charging end. If this is defective, then you should be able to return to retail place of purchase and get a replacement if still under warranty.

Since you did not go into detail about how you connected the headphones I will make some assumptions

If you plugged the RF connectors into the back of the amp.. make sure to note what that output is.. and that the output is selected on the amp. Then turn the sound on the amplifier up slowly.

The green light indicates you have some type of signal activating the headset.. if you have the headphones plugged into a tape out connection and your amp allows this connection to constantly act as a monitor.. you may be getting enough of a signal to activate the base.. but not enough of a signal to generate audio as that connection is a fixed signal and pretty much unamplified..

When experimenting with outputs on the amp.. remember to turn the amp off when switching connections.. and turn the volume down before turning it back on.. always turn the volume down between selecting outputs ..

Finally verify the headphones work by simply plugging them into a headphone jack..(if you did not get that connector you can pick one up at radio shack) and turning the volume up slowly on the amp..

SImply connect the headphones to a power source. Then press up and down volume buttons at the same time. It will reset the headphones.
