Plantronics audio 995H wireless headset not chargi - 38cafd7a-6060-4717-bc4f-b4db91cc266a.jpgI recently fixed my 955 headphones... it's probably not going to be attempted by most folks, but it saved a great set of headphones from being tossed and replaced.

Basically you need to remove the right side padding and take out the 3 screws. This gets you access to the battery. The battery is a standard 3.6V lithium battery. Pretty much the same that is in most cell phones and many small toys. You can simply replace the battery with something like:

Or... here's what I did... add a lithium USB charger to the battery.

Now, if the battery dies I can plug it into USB and the phone will work while it charges.

When you say the right side padding, do you mean the side with ehe mic or th eother one?

The original battery has an additional white wire which I believe is the thermistor wire to monitor the battery temperature. Since you seem to have installed a separate charging board and battery, did you have any issues with the headset not getting anything on that white wire anymore? In other words, did the main board of the headset under the left earphone care that it wasn't sensing anything on that wire anymore? Thanks for any feedback!

SOURCE: plantronics cs55 problem

Turn on the wireless headset as soon as the HL10 lifter picks up the headset. Remember to press the call answer switch. A steady green light should come on the base and the wireless headset should have a small green blinking light on, on its side.

* Make sure your hand receiver is off the hook when using the headset. Also check that you hear a dial tone on the handset/hand receiver before turning on the headset.

Power button not turning on headset

I'm guessing at some point I pressed down too hard on the power button and either broke something or mis-aligned it to what mattered.
If this happens to you:

Plug the headset into the (connected) USB power cord

Blue light comes on

Unplug - Headset should remain on

If you leave it plugged in until it turns red (charging) then it will turn off when you unplug it.

If your headset doesn't show a blue light or any indication of life, something beyond the power button is wrong.

My 220 won't turn on. Red light stays on when charging but when unplugged won't do anything

The link below on page 7 has the sequence for turning on your headset (Explorer 230 and 220 work the same). If you're still having problems, then it needs to replaced.

Recently my headset does not turn on. I thought perhaps it needed to be charged, but even when plugged in none of the lights come on. After charging over night, it still did not turn on. It worked fine...

Have you seen this FIXYA Link?
Plantronics audio 995H wireless headset not charging when plugged into...

Or could be your tiny "POWER" button-switch has gone bad"? Or perhaps a actual battery 'hard failure'?

Here is part of the text:
The 603443 next to its replaced counterpart. The new battery is a 850 mAh lithium polymer battery while the original is a 500 mAh lithium ion. Sweet!

See the Link about Battery Replacement...

While you are in there try a Q-Tip with a tiny-tiny dab of contact cleaner sprayed on the Q-Tip... now try to apply some cleaner right to the Power Switch CONTACTS.

*** BE SURE TO USE A CONTACT CLEANER THAT IS "PLASTIC SAFE"!*** and with silicone is better.

I went to turn off my headset and the red light came on showing that it was turning off and the red light is still on and has been on for several hours and the headset will not work at all.

Try this system reset, it should get your headset up and running again: While plugging in the AC charger, hold the power/pair button. The headphones should show a solid red or blue light when they have been successfully reset. If it's still giving you problems, contact Plantronics at 800-544-4660 x5 x5538 for warranty service (it has a 1 year warranty).

All of a sudden my CS 55 with plantronics stopped working. It shows that its on but the headpiece isnt charing and also doesnt work. Any ideas why?

If the Plantronics CS55 wireless headset shows that it is on, you have to make sure of the following things.

a. the green LED on the base turns on when you turn the call switch on from the headset.
b. the small green LED on the side of the headset is blinking.
c. the telephone headset is lifted from the cradle.
d. if the headset is not charging and the Amber light on the base does not blink when you place wireless headset on it; trying placing the headset more firmly.
e. If the headset is not charging and the Amber light on the base does not blink even after placing the wireless headset firmly on the charging cradle, you may need to change the battery.

Alternately you can try resetting the Plantronics CS55 wireless headset.

Reset Plantronics CS50, CS60 or CS55 Wireless Headset

If you have problems with the sound or connection of your Plantronics CS50, CS60 or CS55 wireless phone headset, you may want to try to hard reset it using the following steps:

Note: Ensure the IntelliStand switch (on the right side of the charging base) is in the - position and NOT the = position.

1. Press both the call control button and the listening volume/mute button for 5 seconds. When the indicator light blinks release both buttons.

2. Press the call control button again. The talk indicator light will again blink to indicate the headset is back to normal.

3. Disconnect the AC charger from the AC charging jack for 5 seconds.

4. Reconnect the AC charger.

Now give the Plantronics headset a try.
