SOURCE: Oven does not heat but broiler does

The most common cause of this symptom is a defective ignitor. Oven ignitors can glow and allow enough current through to open the oven gas valve but just not produce enough heat to ignite the gas immediately (see the link below).

In that case, replacing the oven ignitor is the usual solution.

yesthis is a common problem with this brand. 2 things can be done. 1. replace the hinges left and right or add 3 washers on both sides of the hinge to bring the door hinges closer.Im a old bosch tech and I told them this was a issue.

Oven does not heat but broiler does

First thing to suspect would be a weak igniter....see if the amp draw while the igniter is glowing matches the amp rating of the gas valve, the value will be on the side of the valve, if the amp draw of the igniter is lower than the rating of the valve you would need to replace the glow coil/igniter.

Hi,

Can you provide a model number for your oven. Is it a single oven or double ? Wall oven or free standing range ?(conventional with cooking surface)

Unfortunately the error codes for Bosch are different depending on the model of the unit.

Thank you, I`ll look for your reply.

You have a stuck or shorted keypad. Try Cancel/Off and hold for 10 seconds. Then push every key several times to unstick. If that does not work unplug range and remove the access panel, disconnect the wire connections, then replace them. If all these steps fail replace the control. good luck

Error code

Try unplugging or turning off the breaker for 30 mins then plug it back in and see if you still have the 160. I'm surprised that it doesn't have an F anywhere in the code. How old is the oven. Could some of the lights on the control be out. they are LED's and sometime they do burn out. I'm thinking this could be an F06 code which could mean anything from a power surge (clock) and needs to be reset (like I said by switching of the breakers or unplugging) to an EOC (Electronic Oven Control) failure. By switching off the oven and waiting about 30 mins. if it doesn't come back on it will be the EOC. make sure the LED (light emitting diodes) aren't out on the control making you

Error 160

Error 160 is the error code that corresponds to the fact that a new controller board has been installed, but not yet programmed to your model of appliance. Companies now tend to use a standard board for multiple models, and upon installation it needs to be "programmed" to tell the board which model it is. This is a simple step, but usually involves pushing a couple of buttons at the same time, then selecting your model number from a pre-programmed set of options. The instructions should come with the new board, or the company can provide if you can get them on the phone.
