NO PICTURE I HAVE A 5 YEAR OLD PROJECTION SET. WE WERE WATCHING TV AND THE SCREEN WENT BLACK, THE POWER ILLUMINATION LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. WHEN I UNPLUGGED THE SET AND PLUGGED IT BACK IN AND TURNED ON THE POWER IT ACTED AS IF WAS GOING TO COME ON AND THEN IT CLICKED AND THE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AGIAIN THANKS FOR ANY INPUT YOU MAY HAVE.     I AM HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AND MINE TOO IS ABOUT 5 YEARS OLD...IS IT WORTH FIXING AND HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST? ANY IDEA?

The leading cause of this type of failure is convergence.. Replace both convergence Ic's Stk392-110 and check all 2.2 ohm resistors in that circuit... This repair on this particular unit is fairly easy because the convergence amps are mounted in such a way to easily remove the left board for field servicing...

The x-sus or y-sus panel wil be the fault.Check the fuses on these panels ,if one of the fuses is open then that panel must be replaced.Not verry cheap to replace.

Your Sony TV needs Screen (G2) volts adjustment and I'm not sure that you can do that or not by yourself.

Picture started getting fuzzy then it went out
yes,remove the back of the tv,on the power board you will see the problem.replace those capacitors on the power board.this will allow the set to work.the black bars may still be there.this is an indication of a bad panel.

Toshiba 36HF71 has sound but no picture
Same problem with mine. Relays click, sound, no picture and a flashing power LED. I finally found a schematic online. I went through the high voltage circuits and found the power transistor 2SC5570 was shorted out. There is also a pico fuse in that area but my was not open. I replaced the transistor and prayed the flyback transformer was not shorted. It wasn't, I'm watching my old 36" right now. Not a bad fix (17.00) bucks. Wonder what a service tech would have charged ;)

Sony 57" rear prijection TV has a fast flashing light and will not turn on
turn on tv, after a few minutes picture goes black, but still have sound. red light blinks 5 times,turn set off same thing happens when you turn set back on. some times it want do it for 10 min.

Green flashing light - no picture
If the green power light is blinking and you have no picture, then your light bulb has burned out and needs to be replaced. It is not a cheap bulb to replace. If the TV is less than 1 year old it should be covered by the warranty

Sound, but no picture. Standby light blinking 5 times
A few weeks ago my set started flashing to a black screen. Now a couple of weeks later, i have no picture, but the set turns on and i have sound. The standby light is flashing. I purchased the set in 2000 so it is seven years old. This is the first problem. Could it be all three of the bulbs? Could it be all three of the bulbs? no as you say that sound is ok that means your power supply &high voltage section is ok. please check chroma ic luminance section or system control section stand by ckt ihanks

Power light flashing/ no picture
I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.
