A few weeks ago my set started flashing to a black screen. Now a couple of weeks later, i have no picture, but the set turns on and i have sound. The standby light is flashing. I purchased the set in 2000 so it is seven years old. This is the first problem. Could it be all three of the bulbs?
It could be a cause of an overheat on some part of a circuit board. Do solder the lose contact, specially on chroma IC.

KP53HS10 is 9 years old and has provided many pleasant hours of entertainment. A week ago a pinkyish hue came over the screen. The picture could be seen but gradually faded after time. The audio was Ok. Now the picture is completely gone and the screen is a pink/purple/dark red color. The standby diagnostic light flashes 5 times repeatedly. Again, audio is still good.
Would appreciate any assistance in diagnostics and repair. Sony claims they have never had any recorded similar failures in any of their tvs.??
TV blink's to black screen then back to full color. The led flashes 5 times and repeats. Having trouble finding resolution TV tech was clueless
