SOURCE: pride victory Scooter battery charged won't run

Its probably too late to give my opinion, but here goes anyway.
I had a similar problem with my mothers scooter and it turned out to be a faulty connection on the wires leading to the motor. I simply pulled the plastic connection apart, cleaned and lubricated the contacts, refitted the connection and all was well.

Hi, That sounds like the speed pot is faulty,

When going along push the lever in the upwards direction as well as forward , does it speed up ? does it response ? if so then that's the problem.

There could be a issue with the metal key making a good contact when inserted.

GeWiz.

Pride travel scooter cut s off

This is usually due to the battery "jumping" off the contacts when you go over a bump in the pathway. Put a RUBBER door stop between the battery and the seat post. This fixed mine for all but the huge potholes. Had this fix for 4 years

Problems with my evolution 8 mobility scooter

i have never personally worked on a mobility scooter myself but i do know that my grandfathers had the same problem and his gear sprocket had worn down so when he was on flat ground it was fine but when he would go up inclines and it needed more power it would just spin and barely make it but this was also ten years ago so idk if there even close to anything the same anymore

Electrical shuts off or slows down when riding

You may need to replace the battery even though it is charging. It sounds like a bad battery or the motor may be overloaded.

Scooter appears to be charged and works, but doesn't travel more than 3mph. Has plenty of tork with NO LOad. bATteries were always hot when charging and surface of deck was too hot to touch. Scooter...

PCassels Check the brake located on the rear of the motor. If the brake is dragging on the motor housing it will cause heat and slow the scooter down. If you can, remove the brake from the motor but leave the wires connected. Tie the brake up so it won't fall and see if that makes a difference in speed and heat reduction. Don't overcharge the batteries Charge overnite or until the green light on the charger comes on indicating a full charge. Never charge more than 10 hours for this scooter. Now with the brake not on the motor the scooter will not have brakes so watch out on ramps and steep inclines. If it is only a few months old then it is still under warranty and you need to contact the provider that sold the scooter to get it repaired correctly Hope this helps

I have a pride victory xl8. Problem - was running

All scooters have a protection system built in to prevent burning up the motor, and the user, should the scooter overheat. It sounds like yours overheated. If the temp. outside was warm to hot, and your weight is near the weight limit for the scooter, and you are taxing the motors over a hill, or unstable terrain, then the scooter goes into "limp home mode", or just enough to get you a bit aways, and then it will turn off. After a few minutes to cool off, it will go again, but shut down fairly quickly because it takes a spell to let the whole transaxle-motor assembly to get cool.

Check your weight, and anything else you may be carrying with you on the scooter. Check the terrain, and incline you are going against. Throttle down for all these occassions. If you overloaded the system at some point, then you may have overheated the brushes. Remove them (2) with a standard screwdriver and see if the copper coil is still flexible and springy. If not, replace it/them.

The damage may already be done, so it may need a new motor/transaxle assembly. An expensive proposition I'm afraid.
