If everything checks out on the power supply - Grab a flashlight and shine it on the screen - if you can see a really dark picture you need an inverter board - if you can see no picture I'd target the main board with the input jacks on it. Inspect it for damaged components and get the part number off of the board and google it. see if there are known issues with that part number that have been identified or use www.shopjimmy.com to see if they have a part from a cracked screen tv.

No picture, no sound on a LG LCD tv

If it is hot were you live , That model of t.v doesn't like heat, anything about 35 degrees celsius could cause a problem with the card components.

When we first turn on our aquas 42d62u it makes us wait for approx 30 sec to get a pic.it says press any button to view but nothing changes if you press a button.

Most TV's besides Sony take 15-20 from turn on to get a picture. If your hooked up HDMI this will add a few more seconds. The reason for this is that the have added Processors in TV's to convert and display signals, The same as Computers. So these days TV's have a START UP time due to the "mini-computers" that are inside. If you still don't get a Picture then scroll through all of your INPUTS on your TV (and Receiver if there is one) Also make sure that your TV remote is set to TV on the TOP of the Remote if it has several options (TV, DVD, REC, AMP, CABLE)

LG 32LC2D HDTV

Many TV's with an LG plasma display (or built by LG for other manufacturers) have a manufacturing defect that has been reported widely on the Internet. LG, Akai, Samsung1.gif and Zeneth among others.

The sparkles are (usually red) visible on a black background with all inputs after the set has been used approximately one year. Soon after a pop is heard and the picture no longer shows at all.

LG and some other manufacturers using the LG displays have not acknowledged this defect and will only repair them free during the warranty.

Often techs will merely adjust voltages and or picture controls, which does not fix the problem but it just disguises it -- until the display blows -- usually after the warranty expiration.

I own a 42" Akai that is 9 months old that has recently been showing the red sparkles. My set is being replaced.

You should contact service if your set has this problem is under warranty and it should be replaced at no charge.

Good luck. :)
