How do i replace the speaker on my lg ke970 phone thanx in advance cheers aron

Hello aron61

The KE970 doesn't have a dedicated loud speaker and instead uses the in-call speaker on the front panel for the ringing melodies.

If it is the in call speaker you want to change, it is in the front panel of the phone.

Get a screw driver and un screw the phone.

remove the speaker from the panel and quitely replace it with the new one.

Thanks for your patronage.

Hi , there is problem with my phone volume. I can

Hello,

First of all, a temporary solution is for you to use a earpiece. You plug it on your phone and you will be able to hear the callers clearly.

If your phones main speaker is working, then it is the earpiece speaker that is bad. All you have to do is to replace the speaker with a new one. There are two speakers on this phone, one in front, which is the part where you get to listen to your callers from, then another speaker that plays your audio files and receive your calls on speaker mode.

To disassemble the phone, follow the steps below:
  1. Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Six screws need to be removed,
  2. Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.
  3. Now remove the two screws and you'll be able to lift away the metal plate with the identification sticker on.
  4. A ribbon connector needs to be detached. This attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug. You can now lift the circuit board away from the rest of the phone.
  5. Remove the eight screws you can see. These screws hold the slide part in place.
  6. You can now lift the slide part away from the rest of the phone. Four screws now need to be removed. The two on the left are covered with black stickers which can be easily removed.
  7. Now run your plastic tool all the way round the join of the front cover in order to release it.
  8. Three ribbons need to be disconnected. The two left and right attach like a plug and socket. Just lever each up to unplug. The ribbon in the middle has a different connection. To release it just flick the black latch up and pull the ribbon cable away from its socket. You can now lever the LCD screen out of the front cover.
  9. Then you see the earpiece and where it is connected to, just disconnect it, replace it with a new one, then you reverse the process to reassemble the phone back together.
Take care and good luck.

NB: When making a call, do not put it on speaker yet, then you increase the volume from the side of the phone where you have the volume button. If you do not hear the person calling you, then you replace the earpiece with the steps above.

The phone vibrates when an incoming call is recieved but there is no ring tone with general selected. Even when I am using the tones menu all I get is the phone vibrating and no sound ?

The phone's speaker is either damaged or it has a loose/bad contact pad connection. Other than that, you need a qualified technician to look at it.
Follow these:
  1. Remove the covers.
  2. Remove the battery.
  3. Remove the crews on the front of the phone using T6 screwdriver.
  4. Lift the board from the housing.
  5. Hold the board from the edges.
  6. Clean the contact pads on the board using a cotton bud with alcohol.
  7. Clean the speaker terminals and lift it up to ensure it makes contact with the board when assembled.
  8. Check the continuity of the speaker using a multimeter. If it reads open, replace the speaker.
  9. Reassemble the phone in reverse order.

Pan KX-TG3032CS: Handset has dialtone on Speaker, not on Talk. Handset works OK otherwise.

Made phone call on Speaker; worked OK.
(Had to phone the library anyway; good test.)
Took handset apart, determined normal ear speaker was OK.
Disconnected Speaker - never used it anyway.
Switched ear speaker wires to Speaker connection. Soldered connection.
Phone now works fine; just press Speaker rather than Talk.
No parts, no cost, & a working phone. And if there's a problem I can simply reconnect the Speaker & use it that way.

Speaker quit working

If you open the phone on your own it will void the warranty. My fiancee had the same problem with his phone. He turned it upside down and lighty tapped the speaker against the padded sofa arm. It instantly worked, by doing this the speaker contact was shifted back into place. If this does not work you should probably send it back.
