heating elements are simply resistance wires and allow current flow in either direction
so there is noconsideration for polarity
either way will be correct
I'm pretty sure this thermostat uses digital communications with a dometic control board. In other words, there are no contacts in the digital thermostat to turn something on and off. Even if you ran a 12VDC wire to the thermostat for power, it won't work to replace a "real" thermostat. I bought one to replace my old analog thermostat and it's not going to work for me.
I have the same model in my 5th wheel. I found a white plastic piece on the far right side of the metal slats inside the refrigerator. This plastic piece has some kind of a probe attached to it. The white plastic piece slides up/down on the metal slat. There is a sticker next to this thing on the right side of the refrigerator (inside) that shows a range of "colder to coldest". I think if you slide that piece up/down, that is what controls the temp inside the frig.
I replaced one unite with another and the wires are differance colors the old unites wires are red, purple, yellow, bleck and white the new one have orange, brown, cream, darkpurple, and white
