did you update the driver program

you may need to take it in to the camera place to get the internal batery for the clock replaced also you may need to up load the driver program for the camera
the memory card may need the safe slide to be mooved

you probly can have the win vista driver or software
for your computer at the canon web site canon/support/customer/

Here's the support site for your camera. Click on the "Downloads and Drivers" tab, select your operating system, and then download the appropriate driver for your system (note some OS don't require a driver.

You can also download the "Zoombrowser" program here, but it's 72 megs, and might take a while.

I have a "broken" A520 that needs a new LCD. I really don't want to spend another $90 to get it fixed so may be willing to sell it for parts. Let me know. I don't know about any guide for disassembly however.
