My kodak easyshare z710 won't save pictures to the sd card even when i buy a new one

My camera won't save pictures to an sd card anymore. It will however save them to the camera memory which really doesn't do me much good. Is there a way to reset it back to factory or does it sound like it is doomed to be sent off to fix.

SOURCE: Memory Card Requires Formatting

Hey B418,
Formatting will delete all your pictures on your camera or memory card. The camera might be prompting you to format because the the camera's memory is full. To avoid losing your pictures I would connect your camera to a computer, download your images to your computer first, and then format the memory.

Sincerely,
Allan

I cannot use a 4 gb sdhc card in kodak z710. Why? I can solve somehow?

The Z710 is designed to work with MMC and SD cards. It will not work with SDHC cards.

Even though an SDHC card will fit into an SD slot, there are electronic incompatibilities that prevent it from working. This is a hardware issue, and cannot be fixed in firmware.

You will have to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Go into the camera menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. If your camera uses an SD card, make sure the slide switch on the side of the card is in the unlocked position.

Hello. You need to buy a SD card to store your pictures on.This card slides into a slot on the side of the camera. You may have a 2GB limit check with Kodak or your manual before you buy anything larger. The 2GB card will store several hundred pics at 7 megapixil size.

I put a new memory card in our Kodak EasyShare

Your camera is only supporting SD/MMC Cards (up to 1 GB)
The card that you currently have might be faulty. Please try another card.

You might also need to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.
1: Menu 2: Cam settings 3: Chose AUTO or SD card option Press OK
Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

I am unable to upload pictures from my EasyShare Z710

Buy an inexpensive card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop.

4 GB doesnt work

I believe this camera only supports SD/MMC cards, not SDHC cards. Go to the kodak site to see the detailed specs. Not all devices support SDHC - most new ones do - but some only support the older SD cards.

KODAK EASYSHARE Z710 DIGITAL CAMERA

Hi Tanya

It sounds like something was corrupted when you transferred your pictures to the computer.

If you have all the pictures safely on your computer, it will be ok to reformat the memory card and then just copy and paste the pictures back to the card.

Insert the card in your card reader, go to My Computer, you should be able to see the card as a removable drive. You can click and open it just like a folder and see what is on the card.

I would also back up the pictures to an external drive or dvd so they are extra safe!
