Iriver h340 hdd

The only results from a search for h340 is from Logitech, and this is a quote from Logitech support.

"Your Logitech USB headset doesn't require any drivers or software, other than the default device drivers built into your operating system."

If your device is indeed a Logitech headset then you might try this:

Unplug the headset
Click on start
Right click on My Computer
Click on Properties
Select the hardware tab
Click on Device Manager
Look for your headset and uninstall the driver
close all the windows and reboot
after it reboots plug the headset back in, the correct drivers should then install automatically.

What size earphones or headset do i need

I would go for a USB headset. Logitec makes a nice one. Don't go for earbuds--the logitec has soft headset and mic built in.

Window XP does not recognize my H340 after battery change.

H340 should show as a removable disk drive. Ensure it is formatted as Fat32, run chkdsk, or scandisk. Does the H340 boot into play mode? you did not say. I replaced my battery with no problems... so if it boots Ok it is a non-related fault.

H340 i river

Horizontal lightning blot = OK = the battery is already fully charged

Vertical lightning blot = enough power for charging not getting to player - your USB port may be less than 2.0, or may be malfunctioning for some reason - try a different uSB port first - if still the same result, go into the Device Manager and make sure there is not a yellow exclamation mark by the USB port.

Use the wall charger if it will no longer charge via USB.

Iriver h340

Have you tried a program such as drive rescue (I got a portable version (for PC)from portablefreeware.com)
Likewise roadkill's unstoppable copier(google it, sorry no link) I don't know of Mac equivalents.

From memory the hard drive is a 1.8" Toshiba drive. If this is the case, you can get a USB enclosure to plug it into. (I got one on eBay for a similar situation with a faulty X-drive) You will need to pull the h340 apart before you buy it because there are a couple of pin configurations for 1.8 in drives. If you have to resort to cracking it open there was a video on youtube (I think) showing you how.

MisticRiver For iriver Enthusiasts would have more detail, I am going from memory and has been a long time.

HELP! H340 won't recognise new tracks I add to it! Help! I've had my H340 for almost a year now but whenever I connect it to my PC to add tracks I've ripped, or to change the titles of the tracks that...

There is a limit to the number of Characters in the file name. Have you made the filename too long? Where are the files located - you need to move them out of the RECORD directory? If you hold record button, you can scroll thru to BROWSER and the files will be shown there. I use MP3tag a freeware program to tag and rename my tunes, I have had no problems with it and my H340 Hope this helps,
