Fuse type Fast or slow blow fuse recommend for the receiver

If there is nothing left inside the little glass tube, it's a fast blow. A slow blow fuse will usually have a spring and some other material that make up the slow blow mechanism. slow blow fuses used to also have 'SB' stamped on the metal end caps. The fuse holder may also tell you. If you cant figure it out, put in a fast blow and see how long it lasts, If if blows when you turn the volume high, you should try a slow blow.

HI that is a fast blow and more safe circuit breaker.But before replacing it into a bigger value make sure to read the manufacturers recommended value of replacement fuse it is printed right at the PCboard at the place where the fuse is situated...

it is a fast blow fuse. if it were slow blow it would indicate it.

If you have the original fuses you might be able to tell from that. For example are there remains of a coil? If so it's a slow blow.
However you can fit fast blow in there, it should work normally with that. If it blows again it will be an short in a semi-conductor that causes it not the fuse type.

Have you used 2A SLOW BLOW fuse? This type of fuses usually are ceramic type and are very different with the glass type ones. The glass type fuses are (more or less) fast blow. Although the best solution is to find SLOW BLOW fuses like this, in case it's very difficult you can use 3A fast blow fuse also.

Yes you can use a 250 one. It's the amps that's important. On the other if you can see the remains of a coil on the original fuse then it's a slow blow.
However the fuse might have blown due to a short in the power section or audio section, so make sure you have plenty of fuses!

slow blow (aka time delay) fuses are used in motor circuits. Electronic devices use normal or fast blow fuses

A slow blow fuse is also known as an anti-surge fuse the idea being any sudden "spikes" in you mains electric when you switch on would blow a quick blow fuse. Anti surge fuses are designed to tolerate any sudden initial electric pulse.

The main and I think only fuse is a gma 6.3v fast blow.

DO NOT Use a slow blow fuse it will cause more damage to your receiver!!! If it opened once it will probably open again.

Odds are a set of output transistors are shorted (MP1620 and a MN2488)
