Kenwood KAC-8103D short?

The wires coming from the amp into the subwoofer got unplugged from the sub box and touched eachother.. i looked at my fuses, none were blown, but ever since then it made this heartbeat sound of a deep bass tone, then stopped, then started again like a dying heart beat " dum, dum..Dum.....dum........dum...............dum" so i looked at the inside of the amplifier, for a burned out resistor or something out of the ordinary, but nothing is showing up.. i really dont want to fork out the cash to get this repaired professionaly the same thing is happing to me what does it mean when it makes that sound and the red light flashing

Probably popped a diode in the amplifier circuit. The thumping sound is most likely power feeding back through the circuit, so it will have to be replaced professionally unless you have acess to the proper soldering equipment for IC boards. Hope this helps, even though it is bad news

from your sub connect one short piece of cable from + on one side to - on the other side using the same diameter cable as you are running to the sub from amp . this will leave you with + and - on opposite sides of speaker these will then run to the amp +to+ and - to- on the mono side of connetor which is one left + and one - right and the amp switched to bridged

Kenwood KAC-8103D short?

sounds very similar to something that has happend to mine. if you check the fuses in the amp and they are fine, i recomend replacing the fuse in the power wire. if you are using the glass tube type fuses, sometimes the soldering at the endcaps melts, but the filament doesnt pop. the fuse appears to be fine, but isnt. that happend to me a few times. i had to upgrade to ANL type fuses

KAC-7202 Major feedback after a few minutes of running.

you might try unplugging the wires from the sub, turn it back on with the wires disconnected- if the noise comes back the amp is probably bad - if the noise doesn'tcome back -turn your head unit off and reconnect the sub- if the noise comes then your sub's voice coil could be shorted- if the noise comes back you should try a different speaker to compare- if the noise still there with the test speaker your problem is definately the amp.
If these suggestions don't help please e-mail me at [email protected] i will be glad to help. Please give me a good rating if i have been able to help you M. MERLE

You probably have a phasing problem. Reverse the speaker connections on ONE of the amps.

The speaker may have shorted and caused the output transistors in the amp to fail. This is fairly common. It can be repaired.

Stuck in protection mode

First disconnect the subwoofer wires from the amp, turn the car off and back on...is the amp on? If so your subs are shorting it out, either from a frayed wire, or blown subs.
If it is still in protection mode, check the fuses in the side of the amp.
