My acer 5610z won't boot up

I press the power button and It starts up for three to five seconds andthen then the fan shuts down. It never displayed anything on thescreen. The power button remains on and the dvd drive still functions(spinning) with cd inserted. Also I tend to get a long beep then twoshort beeps right after.

    Try to see if you can get into the BIOS settings, regardless what's on screen. You may need to upgrade the BIOS.

    To activate the BIOS utility, press during the POST. (Keep hitting the F2 key after the power button). Also if you have a spare monitor, plug it into the VGA port as well.

Possible memory (RAM) problem.

try removing all memory(RAM). reconnect just 1 RAM. if it doesnt work reconnect another RAM.

Acer Veriton M498g - ui3540c won't start

Need more info, Give as much detail as you can. What happens when you push the on/off button? Fan spin? LED's Blink? Any thing on the screen? Sound? Does the computer try to start and a second later shut down? Check the power cord, check the AC outlet? Is it on a UPS? Try AC outlet? Can you get to BIOS or Boot Menu? ETC.

you have a brand new hard drive... probably cable is not fitted properly and the memory contacts needs cleaning. try it... good luck.

Toshiba A135-S4527 starts to power up then shuts down.

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

I've got an Acer Travelmate 292LMI. My problem is: the notebook starts (leds on) for only a few seconds (I can see the acer display that preceeds the boot) but immediately it is dead. Only the AC leds...

It could be an overheating CPU problem.
When the CPU in the computer or laptopoverheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot upagain until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then theCPU will eventually fail.

In order to recover the Operating System using Acer Recovery Media please perform the following:

  1. Press the F2 key to enter BIOS Setup during Power-On Self-Test (POST while the Acer logo is being displayed).
  2. Using the keyboard arrow keys, arrow over to Boot.
  3. Refer to on screen instructions to set the first device to CDROM.
  4. Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the System CD.
  5. Close the CD-ROM tray.
  6. Press the F10 key, and then the Enter key to save the changes and reboot the system.
  7. The computer will boot from the Acer Recovery Media, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.

Note: If you do not have a set of Acer Recovery Media they may be purchased at our online Acer order form..

Acer Aspire 7520 black screen wont boot

Turn off notebook. Remove the battery. Press Power button. Notebook should start working. Wait for 15 secs. If the screen still blank press Power button and hold it for approx. 4 seconds until notebook is powered off. Then press power button again. Bingo, problem should be solved.
