SOURCE: setup and loading pictures..

my computer makes the windows uploder pop-up. when it pops up make sure it says "cyber-shot photo viewer" or something of the like.

then right click on the little binoculars in your taskbar (look down at the far right corner where all those little icons are, it's called "cyber-shot viewer media check tool"

right click, import settings, then specify a file to drop the images.

thats the only thing i can think of. call sony if that doesn't help. good luck

SOURCE: importing pictures

I have found that the easiest way to send pictures from any digital camera to a Macintosh is to use a card reader. Just go buy a simple, basic usb card reader for your type of memory (SD, XD, etc.) Then, pop the card out of the camera and into the reader to read it on the Mac. There are fewer software incompatibilities this way, and it transfers much faster than using a cable.

SOURCE: "Cannot find source media for importing" message

HI PINNACLEDATA! FIRST I NEED TO KNOW THE OS YOU ARE USING ON YOUR COMPUTER.SOMETIMES IN XP YOU CAN USE THE DROP DOWN LIST OF CAMERAS TO FIND A CAMERA WITH THE SAME NAME AND USE IT TO DOWNLOAD. THEN THERE IS ALWAYS THE WAY TO JUST LOAD THE MEMORY CARD INTO YOUR COMPUTER IF YOU HAVE SLOTS. MY HP 9700 SERIES HAS THE SLOTS TO DOWNLOAD AND YOU DON'T NEED THE CAMERA. ALSO, HAVE YOU TRIED A USB CARD READER. JUST PLUG AND PLAY. AND SOME OF THE LATER PROGRAMS HAVE PRETTY GOOD SOFTWARE. I KNOW WINDOWS PHOTO GALLERY MATCHES A LOT OF DIFFERENT CAMERAS. GOOGLES PICASA IS PRETTY GOOD ALSO. IT HAS A LIST OR FOLDER. MAN I KNOW I HAVE A NIKON COOLPIX 3500, A KODAK Z 712is, SLOTS ON MY LAPTOP A CARD READER AND A PRINTER THAT CAN READ MEMORY CARDS AND PRINT PHOTOS WITHOUT A COMPUTER OR CAMERA! YOU MIGHT GET HOLD OF YOUR CAMERA MAKER AND SEE IF THEY HAVE AN UPDATED FIRMWARE FOR YOUR OS. REMEMBER IF IT WON'T TAKE YOUR CAMERA, IT WILL USUALLY ALWAYS TAKE THE MEMORY CARD! A CARD READER IS REALLY CHEAP AND SHOULD PLUG RIGHT INTO YOUR PHOTO SOFTWARE PROGRAM. GOOD LUCK! IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS, REPLY TO
ARCLIGHT1217 AND DON'T FORGET YOUR OS! AND I'LL SEE WHAT ELSE I CAN FIND FOR YOU!

Importing Images

The CR2 suffix means that the picture was taken in the RAW file format, a proprietary format. This requires that the images be processed by a software conversion to be 'readable' by the computer. The EOS Utility software that came with the camera will work, as well as a number of third-party software packages. GOOGLE "raw file conversion Canon digital rebel" to see the options.

The other option is to take your photos in JPEG format (not RAW). Your computer can 'read' any JPEG format image.

Hi. I just tried importing my images from my canon 7d to my mac computer using the eos utility and it quit unexpectedly. I then tried again and any option I chose would reply with the word busy on the...

Based on the information you provided, it seems that issue is with the EOS Utility itself.

Uninstall the EOS Utility, restart the Computer and then install the EOS Utility again.

This should resolve the issue.

If the issue persists, check for any update for the EOS Utility and install the update to resolve the issue.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Problem import picts via sd cardreader (taken with eos 450d)

Some card readers struggle with high capacity (SD-HC) cards and indeed some older devices.
If you (or a friend) has a lower capacity card (less than 2GB) try that in you camera and then pc.

You can purchase a VERY cheap USB card reader (c.£10 max) and it should sort your problem - I hope!

Canon eos 20d giving false error message

CF means that it can't read the compact flash socket on the side. I had a similar problem on one of my bodies. I would try either a different (new or one that hasn't been in the body) with a freshly charged battery. If this doesn't help, you can only send it in for diagnostics and repair

Canon EOS 20D Digital zoom failed

Hi there,
The autofocus mechanism on some lenses can be damaged if you manually focus while the camera is attempting to autofocus. Basically, you would be working against the motor and gears.
There is no need to download software before using the camera, however, I would suggest going to Canon's website and downloading the firmware upgrades for it. Here's the link:
Canon 20D Firmware Download
Hope this helps!

Soft Images

Have you done the basic unsharp masking after RAW processing? Normally you'll find a 500% strength, 0.3 pixel and a threshold of 1 or 2 brings out the detail masked by the AA filter very well. DOn't bother with the sharpening in PS ACR....it's too crude and doesn't account for how big an enlargement you'll be making. In other words, there's no control. Best of luck....

Connection Problem

I too have a Canon 20D and receive the same message. Zoombrowser works fine with my Canon G3, so the way I get around this problem is by using the other software that came with the 20D called EOS Viewer. This software will download your images every time. You might try sending a note to Canon's support team on the Canon website. They are very quick to respond to all questions and they can probably respond to this question too. Good luck!
