Xerox XG-91D When I first turn it on it comes on fine then after 2 or 3 seconds it goes blank then I can turn it off and on and it does the same thing. Why would it be doing this? I thought it might be a bad capacitor.

When I switch on my computer the screen boots up as normal and then it would just go blank. You can switch it on and off after that and the screen remains blank.

Same problem here with my Xerox XG-91D. I love the monitor, and am dismayed that it has started acting up. I think mine is out of warranty.

Question: is it cost-effective to send this back for repair? Railandsail, how much, if anything, did your repair cost?

Faulty capacitor(s) has ben mentioned by a computer repair man elsewhere in these solutions. I returned mine to the factory and was told they replaced an 'inverter' ?

Hello,

These are great monitors but the power supplies have a bad habit of failing. We have an article posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/xerox-xg-91d-monitor-repair/ That shows what goes out, how to get to the boards and a full parts list to do the repair. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service, that information can be found here: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/service-request-form/ If you have any questions please let us know.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

My Xerox XG-91D LCD Monitor start, display briefly (about 1 or 2 secs) then goes back. any solution in this case? mention that i use with a dvi-i adaptor on a vga graphic card. thx

I would try VGA to VGA hook up first to narrow down the problem before start taking the monitor apart.
Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). See example of failed monitors to get some ideas of what goes wrong: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further.

Xerox XG-19D LCD monitor goes black in 5 seconds

You may also have to check the IC/Transistors Inverter transfomer drivers, also should Ohm out the resistance of the transformers.
