No u turn it completely off you don't use your hi or low pass at all turn it off. Also unhook the rca's and then do the entire reset by taking out the negative battery cable then replacing it and then plug ur rca's back in again. sometimes the amp gets confused on what kind of signal it needs to put out and I have only seen this with kicker amps the last one was with a kx150.2 and it wouldn't stop doin it til we unhooked the batt. and then checked on the back of the cd player and the rca's were in the speaker out's which is fine if ur just running components but ur not and neither was my buddy.

Car deck turned too loud and shut off

The deck might be damaged. In order to accommodate that kind of layout, there should be a cross over, and a separate 2 channel amplifier for the subs. Without that it's easy to fry the deck!

Can i power 2 12 subs a rockford punch z and a xplode with this amp i found all this **** in my garage and i need to know if it will power all this

First of all. Using two different kinds of sub woofers, is not an option, as these two sub woofers have different specifications and you should never mix sub woofers. Now the better choice from the 2, would probably be the Rockford. (cant be sure without knowing the models, power handling is also a factor in how well either of the sub woofers will play, but Rockford as a rule makes better sub woofers than Sony does) In my opinion, both the sub woofers deserve a better amplifier than what Boss has to offer. However to connect either of these sub woofers, you would need to determine how many voice coils it has and how many OHM the voice coil/s are. If it is a DVC (dual voice coil) and each voice coil is 4 OHM or 2 OHM, then you can connect one voice coil to one channel of the amplifier and the other voice coil to the other channel of the amplifier. If it is a DVC 2OHM you can also connect it wired in Series/Series to give a 4OHM load and should be connected to the BRIDGE dedicated speaker outputs of your amplifier. If it is a SVC (single voice coil) and it is 4 OHM, then you can connect the sub woofer to the designated speaker outputs of your amplifier that states BRIDGE. DO NOT run the amplifier in BRIDGE mode at 2 OHM as this will probably damage the amplifier. dreamsystems

Hi i trying to figure out how to wire up my rca's i have a pionner deck in on the back of it it has front output, rear output, sub output ,and also a audio output .now im trying to up it to a clarion eq that...

The "Front output" from the Pioneer deck would connect to the "Main In" on the Clarion EQ. I'm assuming that your Clarion EQ can only deal with one input, and will send the adjusted (equalized) signal out both of the outputs.
The "Front output" from the Clarion EQ should go to the "Front Input" on the 4 channel amp.
The "Rear output" from the Clarion EQ should go to the "Rear Input" on the 4 channel amp.
The "Sub output" from the Pioneer deck would connect to the Left/Right Input on the Epicenter. The Left/Right Output on the Epicenter would need a Y-splitter for each side, so that you could connect each amp separately. One suggestion would be to use one sub amp for both subs.

Sounds like the amp is playing on full range instead of low

Sometimes the deck needs to be programmed to send only sub frequencies to the sub out. Check the manual or play with the settings. Most likely there is a way to turn it to a sub and a separate setting to change the crossover frequency.

If this is not working, there may be a problem with the Head Unit. If you have another amp in the system, try the sub out in the full range amp AT LOW VOLUME. If not you can use headphones and some alligator clips. Be careful you do not short out the output. Place one alligator on the crown of the RCA plug and one on the post. On the other side, place the crown clip to the connection on the top of the plug and the post on the tip of the plug. If this way you can see if indeed there is full range in the signal. You should here some voice, but not a lot, and a bunch of bass.

If there is too much frequency on the line after these steps then the head unit is not filtering properly and there are two things to be done. Repair or replace the unit. Or circumvent the filtering problem with either an in line RCA Filter or an electronic crossover.

Blown subs

Generally, when woofers freeze, the coils weld themselves to the magnet structure. It wouldn't be possible to repair them without the required replacement parts. Even if you could get the replacement cone/voice coil, the magnetic gap and the area around it isn't likely to be in good enough condition to accept the new parts. With only a few exceptions (Digital Designs and other high-end woofers), woofers are disposable if they're not under warranty.

No Subwoofer output

the connections to the amp seem to be all wrong .check the wiring again.Does your deck have a seperate sub woofer output ?If it does , just connect one sub, i repeat, just one sub,and see the output.
OR
check the GAIN control on the amp.it should be 2/3rds of the max volume of the cd player.check it is not zero!
AND
Set the amp to the L.P.F. position.
bye .happy listening.
