Panasonic PT-53TW53 53 Convergence?

Replace the convergence ICs they will be big black ICs and will have Part number on them example STK392-110
Mats Electronics has them for 9.95 each you will need 2 .

Can you post how many blinks the power indicator is blinking as that is an error code such as 3 blinks means Convergence circuits.

lift the convergence yoke plugs off of the signal pcb one at a time and turn the set on. if unit powers up and stays on then replace the convergence ic's. expect the picture to be distorted while troubleshooting and don't let it stay on long if it fires up. stk-392-110 are the ic's you would need along with some heat sink compound. also check for a burned m.o.v. on the deflection pcb just in case.

Yes you can just take out the old lamp and install the new one in your existing lamp bracket. Simply unscrew , replace and screw back in.

your convergence IVs need to be replaced. Its an easy repair if you can solder. you can get the two ICs you need at the following link. they also provide free installation instructions and free on line tech support while youre doing the repair. Your TV most likely has a Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.

Solution #1

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together convergence repair kits for most models.

The kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, etc. Everything you will need to do the repair yourself.

You probably need to change out the semiconductors. The parts are STK392-110. There are two of them, one for horizontal and one for vertical. Search it online more.

you have bad convergence IC's and possable 1 bad resistor
