I own a Panasonic HDTV projection monitor PT-47WX42C I am having convergence/warping issues; There is a large green/red curve in the bottom rear of screen about 4 inches tall, and stretching over more than half of the horizontal distance across the bottom. The picture has a "double vision" effect all around this area, as well as doubling along the top part as the screen as well. I tried to fix the convergence by manually adjusting the red/blue/green, but it doesn't work--The crosshairs are not straight at all, but rather skewed, and at angles so that the colored crosshairs can never disappear...The center crosshairs are relatively straight, its just the outer perimeter ones that are out of wack..the corners are the worst.

You will need to replace your two convergence I.C.s.They are two large IC mounted on a large aluminum heat sink.Replace both, look for any burned resistors near them, replace those if needed, and readjust your convergence. Good Luck

Panasonic pt-47wx53g red is out of convergence range

Have you moved the TV recently?, if so the red can(Red source) in the back bottom of the TV may have physically shifted in its holder, this is common when a rear projection tv is moved, jostled. Take the back off, look at the three cans,Red, Blue, Green, see if they all look like they are nested the same, bet the red is shifted a little.Good Luck with it!

PT-47WX53G green convergence and wave on bottom of screen

Had same problem with Red. Could not adjust. Funny broken lines. Found this link:

http://cmpalmer.blogspot.com/2006/11/fixing-my-own-tv-part-ii.html

Replaced the ICs. Was disappointed at first 'cause it was still all bowed out, but then realized that the Convergence 2 "target" can be changed with the number keys. Working thru 1-9 and going back to readjust as necessary adjusted each one into perfect alignment.

Problem solved. TV works great.

I should add that while I am reasonable technically adept, I am a software geek and never soldered before... hardest part was getting up the courage to dive in and do it myself. Glad I did.

I have my panasonic tv

This is a convergence problem and is either bad connections at the convergence IC or defective ICs. If you can solder, try resoldering the pins on teh convergence ICs. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the ICs. These ICs are large black ICs attached to a heatsink and may be marked STKxxx.

Keep us posted on your progress.

would require some troubleshooting, common problems would be convergence amp ic and high volt transformer transistors
