Seeking Canon Powershot A520 Battery Door.

Lift the rubber flap on the left side of the camera. Pry open the tiny plastic slide door located there with your fingernail. Remove the CR1220 battery, noting which side goes up and down before you do. Take the battery to your local drug store Walgreens or Riteaid and buy a replacement from the battery section for about $3. Note that drug stores generally sell this battery much cheaper than department stores (like Walmart ~$6). I know that it doesn't make sense.

There could be 3 problems:

• broken memory card door switch 
• broken battery door switch
• dead fuse

I have seen all of these on A510 and A520. If you have a multimeter, some experience and like to repair it yourself, I could help you. My e-mail is [email protected]
If not, you should give it to a local camera repair shop or Canon service center for a repair.

There is a pin that holds the battery door down, it might be removable without taking the case apart, other wise split the case and remove the pin and put the new door.

You need to power it with rechargable batteries. with the MAH being no less than 2000. I bought a charger which came with 2batteries for less than a tenner

There are parts break downs on the net ive seen a few but cant remember where at this time. Ill keep looking
