Error message Every time i use my linksys wireless adapter i get an error message saying: WUSB54GSC.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. This error message constantly pops up although i still get a concetion

The only downloads available at the Linksys site for the WUSB54GSC adapter are a user manual and a quick start guide. So I would have to say no.

When getting error 211, you will need to manually install the drivers for the adapter.

Exit from the error message, then remove the CD and restart your computer.

Plug linksys usb adapter, the computer will detect the adapter.

Right-click on My computer then click properties, go to Hardware > Device Manager.

Under Other Devices, you will see 802.11 g WLAN with an exclamation point. Right-click on it and select Update drivers.

Then insert the CD. (If the installation setup screen appears, just exit it.)

Then on the update driver screen, click browse and select your CD-ROM drive.

Then click finish.

If you are using Win 7, follow the steps from this link.

If you cannot open the link, just go to kb.linksys.com. In the search bar type 20873. Answer title: Error 211 - Installing Driver Manually for network adapters to work in Win7.

No, it's not necessary that you need a netgear usb to make it more compatible with your device . Plese download the latest drivers for the adapter by clicking this link:-http://www.linksysbycisco.com/MEA/en/support/WUSB54GSC/download

check that you are installing the correct version with your device. Often times they have the same number and different versions. It may be best to rollback and uninstall any existing remnants, restart your computer, then start fresh after downloading the latest driver proper revision.

you don't have the disk you say? download the driver here: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WUSB54GSC/download. Just choose your usb adapter's hardware version (found at the back)

Its driver related. Uninstall the driver and reinstall automatically (via windows update)

You can go to Control Panle then Add/remove program double click on it then look for the Linksys software there then just remove it , that will remove the software on your computer and you need to restart teh computer to complete the uninstallation..

when it says connected it means to the router, open up internet explorer>tools>internet options>connections tab and tick never dial a connection, or if it's already greyed out it's ok.

Assuming you have run the wireless network connection wizard first to set up the connection, if not it's in network connections and select new wireless connection or set up a wireless network.
