SOURCE: IDE ports in asus m2npv-vm & m2n-mx motherboards

hi, i have a couple of those boards. they have 2 ide ports on them and 4 serial ports. if youu do get the m2npv-vm, one thing that is weird about it, one faces up from the board and the other lays flat off the edge. also the ports are right next to each other and the polarity (which side you put the ribbon cable stripe on) is opposite each other. so if you don't use a keyed ribbon cable you might hook them up wrong.

SOURCE: Microphine not working with Microsoft UAA Function for High Defin

I bet you have to uninstall the sound card from device manager first and the restart the computer. Then try to install the sound driver again. If that does not work you may have to force install the driver from the add new hardware wizard in control panel.

I am curious, do you have a dedicated graphics card installed from ATI / AMD?

Newer ones have a built-in high-def audio also.

This is the driver page for Vista 32 bit, you can change the OS if yours is different, towards the top of the page, it sounds like you need the chipset driver for your Board, but this is the manufacturers URL
