Audio is usually on a separate power source from the rest of the TV and what I'd do if I were you would be checking the power output on the power board for the amplifier.
It may be something as simple as a blown fuse (and nothing else!) or, more likely, bad capacitor or (again more likely since you said it happened soon after you bought it) blown fuse because of a shorted component somewhere in the amplifier.
Hello; All HDTV's have some kind of menu item only on the original remote control, which could be labeled as aspect ratio or screen size ETC. Read your owner's manual or download one if needed. John

Power chord is not a critical component to your tV. It must be of good quality. That is all. Choose one with good quality insulation and flexibility, of a reputed company which suits your TVs AC socket. Thicker will be the best, as it will contain more copper strands inside it. Choose one of best quality. OK.
