I have a Vizio VP50HDTV10A that powers on shows a grey screen, makes a popping sound then the picture turns black and the light flashes yellow and green.
When I turn it on, the screen is lit up a bit but still black. When I turn it off, it won't turn off unless I unplug it. Do I need to replace the power supply? When I turn it on, the screen is lit up a bit but still black. When I turn it off, it won't turn off unless I unplug it. Do I need to replace the power supply?

when you here a loud pop its usually the sustainer boards. Have you checked the fuses on the sustainer boards first to see if they are still good. There is a IC chip under the heatsink and when it gets extremely hot it gives. Also check you power supply board to make sure you don't see any swollen capacitors, leaky or bulged out from the top. Let me know if that helps at all.
I would suggest to remove the back cover and visually inspect the capacitors on the power supply with value of 3300uF/10v for bulging/leaking conditions on the top.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
