Try www.support-and-drivers.com- they claim to have driver upgrades for this system. you should have mentioned that this system is a home audio/video thx setup. makes a big difference- at least it did back in the day! b&w, change the channel! adjust the rabbit ears! the horizontal hold\'s screwing up again! think a tube just blew! etc.!!

Try checking your speaker cables as one of them may be touching the case of the amp,or touching another cable, this can cause a short and cause the error message. The amp is protecting itself .
hope this helps.

Hi fuxsiloh.
It sounds like you have eliminated all the things that could generate this symptom that are external to the amp. It is most likely that there is an internal problem that is causing the amp to go to protection mode. A power supply failure(maybe a fuse) is the only really user serviceable part inside the amp. Perhaps check for failed fuses, replacing any that may have blown with exactly the same type. BE SURE TO UNPLUG AT THE WALL FIRST:)
Is the amp still under warranty? If so, then returning it to a Kenwood service center is the shot. If you want to have a go at repairing it, I can talk you through it, but some experience with this sort of thing is very necessary. Good luck

Graeme

SOURCE: Kenwood Receiver KR-a5020 receiver won't come out of standby
The unit is in what is commonly known as "protect" mode. This means that a problem has been detected in the final output stage of the amp and the outputs are shutdown to prevent further damage to either the receiver or speakers. This should not be a difficult repair for a service shop. Expect a parts cost in the $25-$40 range. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair cost.
