If after the Flash Focus™ feature has been performed, the colors on the FLASH FOCUS screen do no line up (converge), press the
FLASH FOCUS button on the television to begin the
cycle again. If the colors on the FLASH FOCUS screen
continues to appear misaligned, service will be required .
NOTE: It is recommended to
perform the Flash Focus™ feature about thirty minutes after the television has
been turned on and keep the room as dark as possible.
i'm assuming that your complaint is the red is predominant over the other colors- if it is a rear projection set, there are three tubes [r,b,g], and each one has its own flyback with a focus and 'g2' control on it. try backing down the red g2, and if the picture is too dark, turn down the color control [so you should have a black and white pic], then adjust the g2 controls until you have a satisfactory black and white pic- after that, when you turn the color back up, you should have a good pic. sometimes. adjusting the g2 can affect the focus, and there is a focus control on the flyback. there are also optical focus [moveable lenses] on each tube, but they are primarilly for initial setup of the set, and should never have to be adjusted, unless the tube has been replaced. fyi- i happen to have a complete set of sony rear projection tubes [r,b,g] complete with lenses and neck coils i am currently trying to sell, but it doesn't sound like you need tubes at this time, but it's something to keep in mind, because these tubes are becoming extremely rare and hard to find, and cost upwards of close to a thousand dollars a piece, i'm selling the complete set for four hundred dollars. good luck!
Before you replace the ICs, try resoldering the connections on them. Also check the area for other poor solder connections. Resolder any that appear tobe grainy or have rings. Update this with your results and report if the symptoms change.
You have some limited color adjustment settings in ScanGear that you can play around with. I would recommend recalibrating the scanner. This is done in ScanGear Advanced mode under Image Settings.
You need to replace both convergence ICs part number STK392-110 you can get replacements with free instalation instructions with pics at this link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
My Logitech Quickcam for notebooks Deluxe webcam was blurry.
I spent 3 hours surfing the net looking for the answer, only to find a load of vague and technical responses about OS's and other ****. I fiddled about with the focus ring around the lens on my cam, which wouldn't move, so i figured i had an inferior version that had some sort of in-built auto-focus.
Eventually i lost my rag with the poor quality of information i was finding on this issue.
I went downstairs, got my pliers out of my tool bag, and wrenched the lens ring.
