Fixed - Hotsync all your stuff to your desktop. Remove any cards, and do a cold boot (press reset while holding down power button)

Then synch everything back again. I'm never buying another palm again.

Hi! I bought a referbished TX from you in January of 2009 (I think). It has been working great. However, the other day when I turned it on, the digitizer wouldn't work. Buttons work, everything else...

Disclaimer: I'm just a tech answering you request. I don't know who sold you the TX.

Have you tried to reset the TX?

First, save your data:
http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/16478_en.html#tx
then reset:

While holding the Power button, use the tip of the stylus (or a similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the RESET button inside the hole on the back of your device.
The RESET button may be somewhere else on the back of your particular device.
First you'll see a palmOne or Palm logo and a progress bar. Keep holding Power.
Then you'll see a grey circular Palm PowereWhen the warning appears, press Up to confirm the hard reset.
If a language selection screen appears, select the same language you selected for your desktop softwared logo. Now you can release Power.

Then sync it to you PC.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

Free data storage on device is low.

You need to free some space for more storage. Delete some items eg music, pics, videos, ringtones etc that are unnecessarily used. The store space is running low

How do you do a hard boot?

To hard reboot your palm tx, press the reset button at the back and hold the power button at the same time until the grey palm screen shows up. The moment it shows, let go of both buttons. It will later ask you to delete all data so just say yes.

Using the desktop, is there anyway to move(either to the memory card or the PC) or delete files on a Palm TX. I apparently used to much of the devices memory and now I can't ge to the home screen(it...

If you're able to hotsync, then yes. In the desktop, delete notes or other items (Does the TX have voice memos? Those would be a quick way to free up a lot of space!)
Perform a hotsync, and your Palm should then have some free memory.

If you're not able to hotsync, then nothing you do in the Desktop will have any effect on the Palm.

But, I'm skeptical that this is the real problem. It sounds more like memory corruption, and a hard reset is going to be the real fix.

I bought a used Palm TX Handheld can't clear previous owners password.....Can it be reset to change the password?

Yes it can. Hold the power button down and use the stylus to push in the reset button on the back of the TX. Keep holding the power button down till you see the screen powering up. Then let the power button go, you should see a menu asking if you want to reset the unit. select yes (qui). then it will clear all the data and password off.
Then download the latest Palm Desktop Manager and the Hotsync from this site:

When trying to sync, error message reads (sys 0505)(0,841).What can I do? For Palm TX handheld

Hi,
Try to perform a System Reset (see article linked below). If it works to break the loop, you should then be able to delete the offending "My Palm" software and perform a Hotsync to backup your data to your desktop.

If that doesn't break the loop, you'll have to perform another Hard Reset. Sometimes, a Hard Reset takes a couple of tries to get it right, since it's easier to do it wrong than to do it right.

This article discusses the various types of Reset for different Palm devices:

http://tinyurl.com/zlwza

Until you break the TX out of its loop, you won't be able to get the data from it.

To see the Palm OS version running on your TX, enter the Menu, select Info, then Version.

To Get Out Of A Loop:
  1. Perform a SYSTEM RESET by doing the following:
a) Press the UP Button
b) And THEN press and release the RESET Button
c) When you see the second Logo (Palm Powered) release the UP Button
d) Now check if your SYSTEM RESET worked by going to Beam Receive. If it goes back to Off even after you put it to On it means you were successful

2. Now Perform A SOFT RESET by pressing and releasing the button in the back once

  1. After a soft reset, a logo screen appears, followed shortly by a Preferences screen asking you to set time and date.

  1. If a soft reset does not break it out of the loop, you may need to try one of the other resets below.

  1. Do an INCOMPLETE HARD RESET by holding down the power (on/off) button on your device.

  1. While holding down the power button, Press and release the reset button on the back of your handheld device

  1. Keep the power button pressed and release it when the “Palm Powered” logo appears.

  1. A message will now appear warning that you are about to “Erase All Data”. And this will happen if you press UP or DOWN.

  1. Instead you press left or right to begin a soft reset, leaving your data intact.

  1. Your device will then take you through a series of screens to calibrate the digitizer and verify the time and date.
Sorry this was so long, I tried to put everything down that might help you.

How do I perform a hard reset?

WARNING: this will erase ALL data on your palm and restore to factory settings, so First hotsync and back up all contacts, data, and programs before doing this. Also fire up the palm desktop to make sure everything was backed up before you hard reset your device.

WiFi Icon on Palm Tx not showing on taskbar

You should try reloading the software back into the TX. In order to do it, you will have to erase your TX memory. Make sure you back up your files first.

To erase the memory press the reset button until the reboot screen appears. Hold down on the power button until the erase memory screen appears. Select yes. Reload software from Palm CD.

Having exact same problem. 2 options to turn it off 1.) reset button on back and 2.) hard reset - hold on/off button while resetting on back. Keep on/off button held in until Palm Powered screen appears. After that all programs are erased and you have to start over. However, I cannot figure out how to fix the data storage space problem.
