Check with one of those European auto importers. It will cost you, but I know they do some high end vehicles that were LHD.

SOURCE: RHD to LHD conversion

A company called Flying Spares in Warwickshire will be able to supply all the parts. I'm not sure if the steering box is part of the subframe assembly on these models, if it is, you'll need a new subframe setup & new stering box, but the rack is reversible I think and the steering column isn't a problem. 01455 292 959. Ask for Ben, tell him Dave Flora gave you the details. Good luck

SOURCE: how can i convert my 1996 toyota 4runner from lhd

that would be a lot of work and requires a lot of time and money if you don't have the right equipments.

modifications like that can be done but hard.

imagine almost all the parts along the dashboard will be placed on the other side.
lots of parts might come thru where the steering assembly will be placed.

that's a lot of work.

large payment if you let it be done to modification shops.

what country,(means first one sold to,, called market codes(VIN)

which engine.?
4M42 ! the OEM makers parts sales web site answers that, if you looked.
or buy the service manual
pretend to buy the TCM and see where is located, at
mitsubishi web site? trucks can be LHD or RHD , left or right hand drive are not the same. and engine too, not the same. nor the vast FUSO CANTER cabs.
where are you or where was car sold first, if you'd ask maker this they'd demand a VIN so they can not tell you wrong,

the world is huge place and all cars are not the same ww..
this a huge 2 to-8ton pay load truck we do not have heavy truck forum here, just home sized.
4m42 is 2.977 L,diesel ,not told is it TURBO. (and special ECU /TCM
and vast number of cabs. used. ww world wide

the TCM on truck may be stand alone and is different for every transmission opted day one and by country sold to.

4-speed automatic transmissions ELC were available
the wiki on this truck year is super weak on transmissions there.
facts not told
  1. VIN
  2. country (aka market exported to.)
  3. LHD or RHD
  4. what cab is it of VAST
  5. and find real name of transmission, then see TCM used.
  6. or ask

What do I need to do to remove the alternator from the motor bay of the 4D56 turbo diesel engine?

The right size sockets is about it. You will need to release the tension of the belt at the idler arm, disconnect your battery first, remove a couple of bolts and replace.

How can i convert my 1996 toyota 4runner from lhd to rhd?

Its a big job to do properly.

I think if I was doing it, I would procure a RHD model wreck and transfer the needed parts.
If that's impractical, order the essential RHD parts from a wrecker in a country where RHD is the norm.
