WS-55515 Loss of sound and HD blue screen

I have run into two consistent issues with my WS-55515. First, occasionally there is no sound but a picture. I can only get sound from my surround system, not the tv. Probelm self resolves after a day or two but will happen again. Second, when I swich to a HD channel on my cable HD receiver, I get sound but only a blue screen. If I flip the channel back and forth a few times the picture may come in. Any advise what may be causing these problems? Thanks.

Had lines on all the channels, called the cable company and they were able to get the non HD channels working. HD channels, Blue Ray player and surround sound are not working. Is this a problem with a board and/or inputs?

First check set for problems by:This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. Self-diagnosis error 2-3 indicating deflection failure. Check for shorted or leaky Q5A37 part # 260P818050 located on PCB-Main. If found defective replace only the transistor instead of the Main PCB.

High Definition--WS-55807

IF the MITS has 3 component inputs blue red yellow RCA jacks on the back then yes at 480 or 720p, you'll need to attach 2 audio cables for sound. If it has a HDMI input then absolutely.

Blinking green power light & shut down

There are (4) 1000uf @35V capacitors all together on the DM board that need to be replaced some models have 1000uf @ 16V but they are all right beside each other and all rated at 1000ufs the voltages will be stamped on the capacitor along with the uf ratings.

What do I need to do to get 1080dpi

Do you have HD cable or satellite? You need to make sure that they are connected to either a DVI, HDMI or Component (Y,Pr,Pb) connection. Depends on the age of the set you made need to get the Mitsubishi adaptor for HD. And to be correct the resolutions are listed as 48i,480p,720p or 1080i. DPI is used for printing or scanning as it refers to Dots Per Inch. In television we refer to lines.
