Ram upgrade Hello, I have two '2gb 2rx8 pc3-10600s-9-10-f2' ram cards left from my dell laptop. Can I upgrade my hp pavilion ze2000(which have only 384mb ram at the moment)with one of them? If I can: - can I leave the old 384mb ram and just add 2gb ram in other slot? - do I need to put both 2gb ram cards to achieve 1gb ram or is one enough? Thanks.

SOURCE: HP Pavilion dv2000

This model laptop will not allow you to add a video card to it. The video card and all of its components are part of the Laptop motherboard already.

You can, however upgrade your memory from the 1GB up to a total of 2GB, but your current configuration is 2x512mb chips.

So right now you have 2 memory slots available but they are being used by the 2 512mb chips. You will have to remove them and replace them with 2 1gb chips. This can be fairly pricey.

Here is a link to your computer specs

SOURCE: Compaq nc8230 Ram Upgrade

Do a search on this website for nc8230 manual. I just did and found the complete manual loaded with hyperlinks. Follow the step by step instructions and you will find the process relatively straight forward. Essentially what you need to do is loosen a couple of screws in the back, remove the keyboard then remove a plate underneath which will expose the ram module.

Make sure you read the manual though.

Cheers

SOURCE: adding an additional memory module to laptop...wont start!!!

The problem is that your laptop only supports 2 GB of RAM. If there is not a newer bios allowing more then 2 GB is the max you can go. Since you put the 2 GB in one slot then the other slot will be useless. It wouldn't matter how much you put in the 2nd slot because the bios already says you have 2 GB on board and will not accept anymore. Sorry.

How do I put an SD memory card in a hp Paviliion ze2000 notebook? I cant' find the memory card slot anywhere!

Hello,
Actually your laptop doesn't have SD memory card slot but there is another way you can use that SD memory Card in your Laptop.
You have to get SD Card Adaptor.
Click here to see how it looks like and also you can buy it at the website.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Thanks.

I need 500 mg ram and i only have 382, how do I upgrade

Your laptop uses the 200-pin DDR1 PC2700 333mhz memory. I think the maximum memory per slot is 1GB, which means the maximum memory will be 2GB (2 x 1GB). The "shared" video will use either a maximum of 64MB, or, I'm not sure on the maximum video memory if you have the ATI RS480M video.

You can upgrade to 2Gb ram. I dont think your notebook will support 4Gb ram. A 2Gb Transcend ram will cost you around 1500 bucks INR

Upgrade

newegg.com all the way baby! the max RAM you can have is 4gb in that thing, which is pretty good.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010260381%201052910525%201309121118%201309221136&name=DDR2%20667%20%28PC2%205300%29

there ya go around $40....which is not bad at all. i paid 65 for my 4gb for my dell inspiron 1525, and newegg is the best for this stuff by far. The other specs on this thing look pretty good though. the only other thing you might want to do is get a 64 bit operating system, if you have the cash to get a new one, because that allows you to put that 4gb and the dual processor to better use than a 32bit one can.
