Try resetting the camera via the menu...always use fresh batteries when resetting.

Try changing the memory card.

I've managed to fix it, fix it was quite easy .... simply connect the data cable to your PC then format the memory (backup memory contents), turn it on again. repair work

I would put the camera in a bag of rice for several days to dry it before putting the batteries into the compartment.

I love the Nikon AW100. Best Waterproof camera, durable, and it has GPS for geotagging your photos. Perfect for traveling.

The image quality is really good for a weather resistant camera.

My LCD was black but everything else worked fine. I snacked it against the palm of my hand as recommended and it worked immediately. Wish I had know when I was travelling.

Nikon will only supply to registered repair centers. Your best bet is to look on the online auction sites & hope to find one with a different fault & swap the parts over.

Having a "System Error" message display on the camera's LCD display generally indicates a problem where the camera will need to come to Nikon for repair. A System Error is a general error which can be caused by many things: lens problem, CF Card problem, general camera failure, etc. Before sending the camera in, check these: Use the memory card that originally came with the camera (or a Nikon approved card) Remove and replace the battery If the error is still displayed, contact Nikon's Service Department. If the above tips do not help the camera must be sent to Nikon Service, there are no user serviceable parts on Nikon Coolpix cameras.
