I own a Philips plasma panel,model number 42PF9966/79

I own a Philips plasma panel, model number 42 PF9966/79. Approximately 30 mins after warm up an effect like someone is using a green spray paint can, works from the outside of the picture towards the centre until no picture is viewable..changing channels and returning alleviates the problem for a minute or so..then the cycle repeats itself but with shorter viewing times until this is no longer possible. My tech says probably have to change the guts of the TV beginning with the 'Y buffer boards' until problem is solved....Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated while I still have hair!

If you can do component testing and or if you want to spend about $20-$30 in components , you could replace all the electrolytic capacitors , voltage regulators/zener diode and check/replace bad resistors.
or yes , start the board replace process

Dear sir my Philips problem is that it dose not turn on but gos in stand by and the turns off completely model is 42 PF9966/12 ialso need a complete circuit diagram if possibel thank you for your time.

Hello -

I would suggest removing the back panel and looking at the power board to check for bad/busted or leaking capacitors - I would start there. If you do not have electronics experience please be careful as there is enough electricity in a tv to kill you. If you do not have this experience please take it to a repair shop.

Thanks,
MC

Philips 42PF7220A/37 Chassis Number BP2.3U

I think its something on the picture frame board or on the line output board. I would sway to the line output simply because I think but not sure that error code is linked to the line output stage plus when you unplugged the cable the voltage seems within parameters. Good luck.

Philips 42PF7220A/37 April 2006. Chassis Number BP2.3U

Most likely the YSCAN UPPER board and/or YSCAN LOWER Board also gone. Your new YSUS board may damage again if you don't replace the bad YSCAN boards. Try to replace the three boards together and then to verify which boards are bad one by one. Good luck.

Philips plasma 42pf5520d pictures has gone?

My Philips Plasma TV model 42PF7220A/37 went into "no menu exit" mode on 11/28/2007. I went to www.usasupport.philips.com and downloaded an upgrade. Just followed the instructions and my TV is all better.

No Signal after 30 Mins

Posted for a similar problem:

This is an issue with IC 803 on the Z board. This is a 3.3 V regulator that supplies this voltage to the slot card cage. Most input boards use this voltage EXCEPT the component board which is why it keeps playing along whike the DVI, HDMI, or composite signals will cut out after warm-up.

This is a surface mount multi-pin IC and is a bit tricky to replace.
The entire board is PN# TNPA3198xx with suffix determined by what model 7 series plasma you have.

This was a problem from around Nov. 2004 to Mar. 2005
