Dvd Driver Hello. I am buying a dvd burner (dvd driver) online. I have an intel with a windows xp pro operating system. How exactly do I choose how to order, and how do i know which size is right?

Do you know if the software for the burner is accepted by windows 7, and does the computer recognize the burner as being installed ?
You may have to update the driver for the burner to match windows 7 requirements.

If your DVD Drive is compatible with Windows XP you will not need to install driver. You can contact the manufacturer to check it whether your DVD Writer is supported by windows XP operating system. (Or you can check the manual for it).

If it is not supported, then you need to install the right driver of CD/DVD Burner for your operating system after reinstalling the Windows XP.

1) there are no drivers....your operating system has whats needed to operate it.
2) hooking it to a netbook will require you to have it put in an encloser that has a power source, as you can not run the drive with out power supply.
3) you would be better off buying an external DVD Burner, One designed for your purpose. That unit you have will not operate on its own, and you can not hook it directly to your netbook

Depending on which version of windows you are using, you might need to install the drivers for the device.

I know XP and older versions have a mush smaller internal driver database than windows vista or windows 7.

You don't necessarily need to install software to operate the device, just need the driver installed, then your computer will recognize the device.

Have the same dvd burner. In Windows xp pro, it finds it automatically. make sure the jumpers are set correctly. Iif you are using a different operating system, let me know.

When the link open’s click the drop down button & click on your operating system. (Windows XP, ect). Than click the GO button.
For Audio choose number 4. For Video choose number 5 for download.
Download all drivers & copy to a DVD/CD if you’d like.

the XP driver really should work appropriately. I might assume that the drive is damaged (which happens to me frequently with older DVD drives).
