You don't say what headset it is, but I will to help you.
If this is a Plantronics
corded "H" series headset you will need to use an A10 adapter cord,
which plugs into the headset jack on the phone.
If this is what you are
using and you don't hear anything then you need to probably need to
switch to an M22 amplifier box, which is then plugged into the jack where
the telephone handset was plugged in.
If you are using a wireless
headset it plugs into the handset jack where the handset cord was
plugged into.
You can use a Plantronics S11 headset with a Cisco phone, however it is
not the best compatible solution. To use an S11 with a Cisco phone, you
have to make sure that you are plugging it into the handset receiver
jack and not the headset jack. You will need to lift the handset
receiver, set it off to the side, and then hang it up after each call.
If you want a more compatible solution that you can plug into the actual
headset jack and just press the headset button on the telephone to
answer and hang up, then you would need one of the Plantronics "H-series headsets" with the Plantronics Cisco direct connect cable ( model 26716-01 ).
No. It's a programming item and a code or softkey.
The user connects the modular headset to the handset jack on
the telephone leaving the handset in place. The ON/OFF
button on the Digital Telephone is used to initiate and end calls
while using the headset.
To activate Headset Mode:
Dial [634] on the dial pad,
-or-
Press preprogrammed HEADSET MODE button. LED lights
steady.
To deactivate Headset Mode:
Dial [634] on the dial pad,
-or-
Press the preprogrammed HEADSET MODE button. LED
extinguishes.
While Headset mode is active, the ON/OFF button
activates the headset and disables speakerphone
and intercom call announce operation at your
station.
To install the headset, see the Installation Manual.
Station must be programmed in database
programming for headset operation before the
flexible button can be programmed.
I noticed that Avaya headset is different from the Avaya handset or any other standard headset: The outer two pins are switched.
Avaya-Headset-pinning is like this: Look to the RJ11 and turn it until you see leads from top and from front, then from left to right you look at 1) mic 5V 2) speak 3) speak 4) mic gnd
RJ11 of Avaya-handset and any standard headset/handset from the supermarket: 1) mic gnd 2) speak 3) speak 4) mic 5V
Hi, a simple way to determine if the problem is in your headset or in your phone itself is to try the headset on another telephone. If you do not have another headset compatable telephone, you can try taking the headset to a local radio shack (or other electronics store) and see if they will test it on another phone for you.
NOTE: Before re-subscribing the system make sure the IntelliStand switch (on the right side of the charging base) is in the "_" position and NOT the "=" position. To Re-Subscribe:
The headset and the base unit are supplied subscribed to each other. However, if you wish to use a replacement headset with the base unit (or if you lose your connection to the base unit), then you must re-subscribe as follows:
1. Return the headset to the charging base.
2. Press and hold both the + and - buttons on the back of the charging base until the red light on the front of the base starts to flash.
3. Let go of both buttons. The red light should continue to flash.
4. Press the mute switch (black wheel on the top of the headset) straight down until a green light appears on the headset, then let go of the wheel, and the light should remain on the headset.
5. Resubscription is finished when the red light on the base is fully illuminated and the green light on the headset disappears.
6. Remove the headset from the charging base lift telephone handset/press headset button if not using a handset lifter. The headset and base should now be connected.
7. If this procedure does not resolve your issue to try a system reset.
Headset connection: Blue wire to Pin 2, White wire to Pin 1, Yellow wire to Pin 3. Connect Pins 1 & 2.
Microphone connection: Black wire to Pin 3. Red wire to Pin 2. Ground wire to Pin 1.
I am using a male/female 7-pin XLR connector assembly to black box. I am using two 3-pin XLR connectors, one for SM2 microphone function, one for SM2 headset function.
Setup the Plantronics CS60 wireless headset as follows:
Locate the 2 ports on the bottom of the CS60 charging
base. One has an icon of a "full telephone" and the other has an icon
of a "hand receiver."
Unplug the hand receiver from the
base of your existing telephone and plug it into the "hand receiver"
port on the CS60 base unit.
Then take the short cable that came with the CS60 and plug it into the "full telephone" port on the base of the CS60.
Plug the other end of the short cord into the hand receiver port of your telephone (where the hand receiver just was).
Make sure the AC Power is plugged into the wall, and then you can adjust the configuration settings.
To be able to hear or speak through the handset,
either place the headset back into its charging cradle or press the
call control button on the side of the headset. The talk indicator
light on the base should go off and no sound will come through the
headset.
Note: Make sure that the cables are connected correctly and the handset cable is connected to the base of the CS60 base.
I broke the fitting that connects the ear piece to the head strap. I need a replacement. How much? Who will provide one (or two)?
