Touchscreen does not work

My motoming touchscreen does not work at times. For instance, when I recieve a message and then open the flip to read the message, tapping on the read button does not respond. Now when I restart the cellphone and tap on the blinking "!", it doesn't respond. But after some time (10 to 30 minutes) it starts working. This problem has started to occur very frequently. Please help.

Screen cracked

Probably it won't be usable because the sensors on the screen is corrupted. You need to replace it with a brand new screen.

Touchscreen not responding. Frozen

Two thing can cause this. If your unit is running firmware version 5.3, this version has a bug where the touchscreen will work for about 5 seconds then the unit will lock up. Updating the unit to version to version 5.4 will fix the problem. More info can be found here:

If you are running firmware version 4.9 or 5.4 and the touchscreen still does not respond, then the touchscreen will need to be replaced. On the Nuvi 7xx, the touchscreen may be soldered to the LCD display, so if you don't have any soldering experience, please have a professional replace the touchscreen. More info can be found here:

How do i remove the flip on my se p990i?

Switch the phone off, look at the back of it, remove the back cover, remove the battery. you should see two copper colored screws, remove the screw, remove the flip, replace the flip with the small cover that you should have recieved with the phone, replace the screws, replace the battery, replace the back cover, switch the phone on and operate as normal but without the flip. A hint though, you touchscreen will get dirty very quickly

Touchscreen

I would like to ask a couple questions that might be of some use.

First, does the same issue occur when using the phone with the flip closed? That is, can you use the jog dial and keys on the flip properly?

If the phone works fine with the keypad and jog dial, then you should be able to try to recalibrate the touchscreen.

To re-calibrate the screen:

1. Select Applications tab
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select Device
4. Select Display or Screen
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
6. Select Yes or No

Second, if you turn the phone off and on again, with the flip open, does anything load by itself, or does the touchscreen react as if something is being pressed?

This may indicate that there is a problem with the hardware.
It is possible to purchase a new touchscreen for under $100 from a few parts retailers such as http://cnn.cn .

It may also simply be a glitch or bug in the software or firmware OS. In this case, you can try a master reset or updating the firmware using Sony Ericssons update service (not compatible with Vista for the P910), or you could use a third party firmware utility such as from DaVinci etc.
If you choose any of the master reset, firmware or update options, you will lose ALL user data on the phone, so you should back it up before you proceed.
