SOURCE: tv fix

that is usually related to the LSB large signal board will eventually need replacement. Most repair shops will not troubleshoot the LSB at component level, they will opt for replacing the entire circuit board. If you need more info or help to locate a LSB board. please let me know.

SOURCE: blue,red,green lines on top of screen for couple months. Now tv wont work.

The foldover is because of a bad capacitor in the vertical circuit. Given the "new" sympotom of a dead set, I would suspect that the vertical IC has failed. This should be a relatively simple repair for a TV shop. If you wish to attempt a repair of this yourself, update this and confirm your model number and I'll post more details and instructions.

SOURCE: Power light comes on, then blinks 6 times, then off for 2-3 secon

You need a new Naftakey bord part number 313501707611.
Its your volume, channel and your on and off button that needs to be replaced you can do this yourself. Remove the front cover it just pops out and unscrew the back cover disconnect the wire to this area on the part it self it states "part number and name". Good Luck, in getting this part. Im having trouble in getting this part (discontinued item) They may have under another name part.

Hello. I have a Polaroid tv that I bought on 2009. When I turn it on, there is s slight buzzing sound. After about 5 seconds the picture goes out and the screen is black, but I can still hear the audio of...

Please unplug the TV from the power.

Wht has happened is there are two parts in the TV that take the AC power from the wall plug, and convert that AC or Alternating (polarity) Current of electricity and convert it to a Directional (one Way) current inside the device called a power supply or PSU.

There are three major components to the TV, the TV Receiver portion where the radio signals are decoded, the Audio Section where the sound is amplified to a speaker, and a VIDEO section where the picture is generated from the radio information sent by the AERIAL or Co-AX cable hookup (or HDMI for Direct input).

Either way, there is no VIDEO where the picture is decoded and displayed on the screen.

You need to check the Connector Cable if it is a HDMI TV source you are watching , or it is the VIDEO section of the TV that has failed.

Usually the decoder are very robust, but the POWER CAPACITORS are what fail and no longer filter the Recified power from the power cord.

For this reason you heard the HUM, as the filters stopped doing what they were supposed to do.

Do NOT OPERATE The set any further as that will cause more damage. Get it to someplace that will fix tvs.

What part do i need to replace to fix a buzzing noise on a Sanyo DS25390? Thanks, Jason

This tv problems,have 2 possibilities problems.1 the CRT(Tv tube) itself is dead.This u can hear the CRT Video board connection buzzing noises at the CRT-(Tv tube) head.The CRT is dead,also have a little high volt sparks flashing on the video board components too.2 is the FBT-the Flyback Tranformer is dead.This is a highvoltage transformer,a big black block of plastic with a red wire with a cap hook to the CRT(Tv tube).This will make buzzing sound at the base of the FBT.If it is the FBT-it is repairable,if u still can find the FBT part for ur tv model.This part the FBT is a critical part for the analog tv to work.Require tools and also know basic soldering too a must.

It can be from the power supply is not able the supply enough power due to failing components in the power supply module such as DC filter caps or loose transformer core is vibrating or from the backlight inverter transformers. You will have to take a close listen to find out exactly where the noise is generated from first.

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:

Take it back and see if another does the same thing before you get out of the store. There's something loose in the backlight circuit, like a power inductor. They shouldn't do that.

I have comcast and get buzzing from the box when everything is off. Do you have the option of unplugging it and having the t.v. on by itself or will the provider have to come reprogram it. If not, disconnect box to rule out t.v. before t.v. warranty is out.

Quasar 1989 tv makes a buzzing motor sound

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, if you have confirmed that the source of the buzzing sound is from inside the TV, then that would indicate a component about to fail or would need attention. Let us try process of elimination:
  • tuner - most unlikely, the tuner is responsible for selecting the channel. No component/part of the tuner could make such a mechanical buzzing sound;
  • speaker(s) - most unlikely, the speaker could have a buzz but generally would not affect the video nor cause snow (weak TV signals);
  • transformer - a strong possibility although without knowing the exact model, at most generic ideas; power transformer, flyback transformer, horizontal drive transformer (unlikely);
  • arcing - another strong possibility. This could be caused by damp, dusty surroundings of the components especially at the FBT area. Another area that could have adverse effect when dusty/damp would be the anode cap.
This of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
