You may have to call Logitech support or email to find out what the pin out is. that would be my only solution if there is one.

My logitech z-640 speakers arent working and i have no clue why first id like to know where to plug in the plugs in my laptop theres a geen, orange, black cord i have a microphone, headphone and some other...

The different connectors are for 5.1 surround audio, and are for different speakers with your system.
  • The green connector is for your front-right/front-left speakers
  • The black connector is for your rear-left and rear-right speakers
  • The orange plug is for your center speaker.
Most laptops do not have support for 5-speaker audio, so if you want to test each individually, you will need to plug them in one at a time and test playing sounds through them.
Hope this helps,

logitech rarely has replacement parts. and for this model is not for the u.s. distribution so youcan not even call u.s tech support for help. try ebay or craiglist. if the connector is not proprietary you might be able to get a electronic repair shop to repin the connector.

Here's a diagram of the 15-pin serial input cable that came with my Acoustimass 10 IV system. You just need a 15-pin female d-type connector, one RCA connector and a lot of speaker wire. Here's my diagram:

Dell HK 395 Speaker System - Need Circuit Diagram Download

1.  Check the orange multi-pin connector the sufwoofer for a broken or bent pin.  If there is a broken pin you can bypass it by cutting open the cable jacket and tap onto the affected wire with a 6 inch or so jumper, and then attach a jumper to the appropriate point inside the subwoofer.  Pass the subwoofer jumper out of the case (drill a small hole) and connect it to the jumper you added to the cable.

2.  Try wiggling and rapidly rotating the volume control.   There are reports this control may become a problem as it ages.

3. I haven't been able to find a schematic.  My only recourse was to google the output amp and the 2 op-amp packages for data sheets.  They are readily on the internet.  Then I laboriously traced out the stereo paths.  I found that red and black fine tip felt pens were helpful in marking out the signal paths through the circuit boards.
