Need to know jumpers for adding 2gb ddr ram if there are any

P4VXASD2+ (DDR) Motherboard runnin win xp pro. System was working great (a little slow) with 1 gb ram. Bought 2 1gb sticks and installed. Now getting 2 beeps then 8 beeps on post. I'm thinking it's the ram.

Any suggestions?

Well you said you used 256+128 and thats lower than 1gb. So try sticking in one of the stick and run it, see how it is. Then try the other, if both are working fine by themself then try cleaning your board with a nonscrathing cloth (or q-tip).

Lastly, just double check if your motherboard runs that kingston type, the pc2100.

As for your memory goes, os 2k can run up to 4gb of ram.

Can i use DDR 2 RAM for U8668d ver. 6.1 motherboard of 1GB

your motherboard uses DDR1 SDRAM PC2100 max. as stated on their website:
http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdetails.asp?model=u8668+d
you cannont put DDR2, but you can expand up to 2GB

Intel D845GBV Motherboard RAM

You can use only DDR 266Mhz dimms maximum upto 2 GB. i.e. one DIMMS of 266Mhz of 2GB or two of 1GB each. For more details read bellow:

  • Two DIMM sockets supporting 2.5 V (only) 184-pin 200/266 MHz Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
    Unbuffered non-ECC DIMMs only
    Maximum total system memory: 2 GB; minimum total system memory: 64 MB
    Serial Presence Detect (SPD) DIMMs only
    Suspend to RAM

  • CAUTION:
    Do not use ECC DIMMs with the D845GBV board. Using ECC DIMMs could damage the Desktop Board.

Its about the memory card

The board supports upto 4 GB RAM. PC3200 RAM is supported.

1. Reset CMOS settings by CMOS jumper.

2. Try updating BIOS of your motherboard from :
