Removing the tv stand from tv

Put tv on bed face down and look at the stand and locate and remove any and all screws holding stand to the flat screen set. Then after mounting the wall plate per instructions mount the tv to wall mounting.

What model HCT is it?

In every case the cost of the screen unit or display panel exceeds by a lot the cost of replacing the set.

If you buy one manufactured July 2012 there are 6 screws in the back! :)

Hi, Usually there are 4 screws at the back of the tv near the stand that are about 3 inches apart in a square formation, lay the tv screen first on a flat cushioned surface to prevent damage to the screen then remove these screws and pull out the stand.

Your back light is probably out - it may have a bad inverter. Shine a flashlight on the screen and see if you can detect any color or images. If so, then the back light is out. Inspect the inverter for any bulging capacitors. They must be flat on top - if they bulge at the top, then that capacitor is bad.

"S" = Stand.

Remove the 4 screws and pull the stand straight off the bottom.

To remove the base stand, place the TV face down on a smooth surface. Place a cloth underneath it to protect the screen. Remove the 4 phillip screws from the stand. The stand can now be removed. The set can with a cover plate you can use to cover the opening.

I called Panasonic customer service and they directed me to their website where I was able to download that portion of the manual that addressed removing the stand.

Place the tv on its screen flat on a soft surface,
you need to remove all the screws, not just the stand one marked.
Lift the back panel and then you will be able to slide down the stand, when you have removed the back cover you will also see where how your wall mount will fit to the chassis.
Place all the screws back on the back lid.
