I am running XP SP2 on my A22e Laptop,I have 2 batteries approx 12 months old both the batteries have been reconditioned ( discharged and charged 3 times) they are IBM batteries, when the power meter reaches approx 70% it all of a sudden drops to 5% and recommends connecting ac power or hibernates. I have removed the battery and checked it with a volt meter and it shows approx 11.70 volts. Using the battery maximiser program when I do connect the ac power pack it also shows battery at approx 12 volts but only shows 1% usage left as well as states battery charging. I have tried the latest bios update but problem is still there. I have checked the settings and set at no power shutdown at all of the monitor or HDD Any ideas thanks
Re: IBM Thinkpad A22e Shutdown early on full battery
First, you should clean the battery terminals. You can scratch the terminals with a metal and then charge.
Secondly, you should change your battery, that is, buy a new battery.

If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

what operating system are you using and please be more descriptive regarding "blue screen" is it the notorious microsoft "Blue Screen of Death"? or? when this occurs is the system totally locked? or can you hit ctrl alt del and get the task manager? can you boot into safe mode? if you're using xp and can get to safe mode.. have you attempted to restore to an earlier restore point prior to this issue? if yes and you haven't restore back to before issue occured.
Go to Start > Run and type services.msc. Locate the nVidia Driver
Helper item and right click it. Select Properties. Set the startup
value of the service to “Manual” or “Disabled”.
Try turning on the system without the AC adaptor. If it doesn't work on battery, then try pressing and holding the power key (after removing the battery) for 30 seconds.
Now attach the AC adaptor and try to power on.
If it doesn't work, it sounds like either a motherboard issue or an AC adaptor issue (possibly there isn't enough voltage being supplied) but it's an odd problem. I hope I helped.
Stay spicy, and happy lappying! :)
The CRC error (POST = power on startup test) on boot up refers to the BIOS settings. This could be cause by a near flat BIOS battery and it needs to be replaces. If it is not the battery you need go to the BIOS to correct any faulty settings.
