Dishwasher won't start

The Blomberg was in the house and has been working well for over a year. Today it refuses to start. The panel lights up, I can change the program but when the door is closed it won't start the cycle. Normally the motor would start to drain any water left in it. Not now. Any suggestions? I do not have the schematic. I could troubleshoot the electrics if someone can provide it

The technicians data sheet is attached to the bottom of the machine behind the kick panel.

SOURCE: Candy CDI1012 Integrated dishwasher. When I

Hello mm1973,

It could be because of bad door latch switches / blown thermal fuse / blown or oversensitive control board. In all these scenarios, a dismantling of the machine is required. If you have no prior experience, I'd recommend getting a professional to diagnose/service it.

Try these checks too:

  • Check water level when the fill cycle has completed. Should be just under the heating element. If not, you may need to replace the water inlet valve.
  • Check the water temperature. Should be 125 to 140°F.
  • Check pump re-circulation. Listen: does it sound like it’s spraying the water around with enough pressure?
  • Check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks.
  • Check to make sure dishwasher is draining after each cycle. There should only be a little water in the bottom of the tub.
  • Make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.
Hope that helps!

SOURCE: Dishwasher won't drain when cycle

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

My Blomberg dishwasher wont stop drain cycle

A common cause of this condition results from water in the base pan. This may result from a leak in the dishwasher or the drain hose (to the sink drain) backing up. First check the base pan (the very bottom assembly that all other components are mounted within) for any moisture - this can be difficult as there are only narrow openings between the tank and the base pan; a mirror can help or you might have to pull the unit out from the cabinet to access the sides. If there is moisture in the pan this problem must be corrected as the unit is just trying to protect against water damage from a leak. If the base pan assembly is dry, look at the float assembly (behind the water fill valve) as insects or rodents can sometimes interfere with the proper operation of this sensor. That causes the control to think there is a water leak. When this fault occurs everything is turned off and the drain pump runs continuously to eliminate any water from inside the dishwasher.

My Beko MW5104 is frozen and does not respond to any settings. It is permanently on at spin/end with the green light on. I can switch it on and off. I have unplugged it from the mains and switched it off...

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Thermal Fuse If the dishwasher won't start the thermal fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown, the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work.
Door Switch The door switch, or switches, are sometimes called interlock switches. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the dishwasher won't start, the switch or switches might be defective. To access the door switches, remove the control panel or inside door panel - depending on the model. They can be tested for continuity.

Main Control Board The main control board provides power to nearly every component of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher won't start the main control board might be defective. YOU should first check for more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily because the problem was not diagnosed properly.
Touchpad and Control Panel If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced. On some models the touchpad and control panel are sold together and will need to be replaced at the same time.

Touchpad If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced.

Timer The timer allows power to flow to the proper parts at the proper times. If the dishwasher won't start, the timer might be defective. Keep in mind that timers are often misdiagnosed as the cause of a problem. Check other components first before replacing the timer.

My dishwasher won`t start. NO light are open. The electrical power it's ok.

It is possible that themachine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback fromthe inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller mustinitiate the INLET/PUMP MOTOR/DRAIN to workwhen it is commanded .If this does not happen then the voltage at thesepoints must be checked or the faultrelates to no voltage/drive from the controller. This means the controller is asuspect.Check howto remove the control panel: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/dishwashers/a/3/1287/how-to-replace-a-hotpoint-dishwasher-fascia-p.html If thewater flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or thereis dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Whatis most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switchmust be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting themotor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to begood. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turnaround to inject with pressure. If sothe pump must be checked for clogging. To replacecheck this link:http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/dishwashers/a/3/1293/how-to-replace-the-spraying-system-on-a-dishw.html Finallyafter the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to comein to rinse and then finally the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain offall the water.Make surethat a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so checkthe command from the program module and then the executing device be it thevalve or motor or pump. My Blomberg dishwasher will not stop draining once all the water is out. It is at the beginning of the cycle and it's like its stuck and won't move on to the next part of the cycle to bring water...

Doug Smith\'s solution of Oct. 20, 2008 worked for my Blomberg Dwt57500ss model.
Removed small filter basket by pinching 2 tabs inward at the top of the basket. Turned larger basket counter-clockwise by hand and lifted out stainless steel screen. Used wet/dry vac to suck all the water out. The anti-flood switch reset itself. Turn power back on to unit, and pressed start. Then pressed program I wanted to use and reset button to start machine. Worked immediately and started washing dishes.

We pulled our stacked washer out from the wall to service the cold water hose filter on the back of the unit. when we pushed it back into it's location the washer won't start, won't fill...

I know you don't want to hear this, but either you did something to the hose filter or you didn't get it plugged back in correctly.

If you banged the water inlet valve in moving it back, it might be damaged.

Suggest you unplug everything and start over.
