Press and hold [GREETING] until “Record greeting after the beep” is
heard.

After the long beep, talk clearly, about 20 cm (8 inches) away from
the MIC (microphone). • The elapsed recording time is displayed. • If you record for over 2 minutes, the unit will stop recording.

When finished, press [GREETING] or [STOP]. • The unit will play back the recorded message.

Look into some of the older ReplayTV Units. RTV-1000,2000,3000 series. You can do manual record without a fee.
There are some Tivo Hack Software Tips out on the internet.
But not sure how well they work.

1. Programming the time and date for a Comdial Impact digital phone system must be done from the attendant's station, usually the phone located closest to the Comdial controller. Go to this station before attempting to change the time.
   
2. Step 2 Now the phone system's clock is ready to be reset. Without picking up the handset, press the "Intercom" button on the phone. Dial * # 0 1. The digital display should read "Set Clock"
   
3. Step 3 Set the year by dialing two digits (00-99)
   
4. Step 4 Set the month by dialing two digits (01-12)
   
5. Step 5 Set the day by dialing two digits (01-31)
   
6. Step 6 Set the hour by dialing two digits (01-23)
   
7. Step 7 Set the minutes by dialing two digits (00-59)
   
8. Step 8 Comdial Impact phone with updated day and time. Pick up the handset and set it back down to set the programming changes. The new date and time should display immediately on all phones connected to the Comdial system
   

You''ll have to login to the admin mailbox. That's done by pressing your voicemail key or intercom 777. If you have a Partnermail VS the admin mailbox is 99 with the default password of 1234. Once your into the admin mailbox press 9 for admin programming. 3 for greetings, press 1 for the day menu and 6 to modify the menu. press *# to skip selector codes.Press 1 to record your new greeting 1 to stop recording. Press *# to approve or 21 to re-record hang up when finished.

I was told that the day and night settings in the local applications must be the same. It is in your night call routing table that you need to place the extension in order for the system to know which recording to play when. Then, your system will play the application when it is set in night mode. Hint: When you place the extension in the call routing tables make sure the extension is placed ABOVE the +ALL CALLS line, if applicable, and your ring-in-destination is set to your appropriate application recording. Your phone model number is no help with this problem. You could have this phone on one of several different Comdial phone systems using one of several different voice mail systems. You will need to determine which voice mail you have and locate instructions for that specific unit.

Sounds like you are trying to change a voice mail recording. Your Comdial phone can be used on several different Comdial phone systems and with several different voice mail systems that all program and set up differently. Do you have any manuals or instructions for your voice mail system? If not, you will need to find out which voice mail you have and try to locate manuals.

To change main greetings, etc.. you would need administrative rights to the voice mail. There will probably be a password, hopefully you know it or it's still at default.
