Drivers Door Window/Locks aren't working

I have a 2003 Grand Cherokee Laredo w/ 115,000 miles. My drivers side door started doing weird things about 2 weeks ago. The controls only worked when the door was closed. If you tried to hit the door locks when the door was open, nothing worked. Yesterday, I closed the door and now nothing works. The windows don't work, including the controls on the other doors, it won't lock automatically when you start driving either. So, I can't roll down any windows and neither can any of my passengers. Could this be some sort of switch in the door the controls everything?? Please help!

Look for broken wires inside the flex boot , black rubber boot from the body of the vehicle to divers door. That year vehicle happens a lot after you open the door a million times.

Find a good local auto-electrician.

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo TSI, Passenger side windows do not work from master switch on drivers door. Both driver side windows work from master switch on drivers side. Passenger side windows do work...

It has to be the switch or the wiring, right? So pull out the switch and probe the back with a volt meter to see if power is coming out of the switch. If yes, trace the wires to the doors.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4 x 2, windows and door locks work on driver side, but not passenger side.

sounds like an open power or ground circuit on passenger side, since the door lock and the window, lost its functioning. Both switches would have to be bad at the same time, which is not probable, to be the fault. Unless there is a saftey lock out switch on the drivers panel, controling the passenger side door lock and window.

Power windows won t work

There are broken wires in the wiring harness between the frame and your driver's side door. These wires control all the windows and door locks in a 95 Jeep. Same thing happened to me. You will have to cut the rubber boot to get it off and check which wires are broken and repair them.

Power windows, door locks and mirrors inop.

Sounds familiar - I pulled the rubber boot back and found the black wire was broken. I stripped the wires and put on a couple bullet connectors (terminators) and all is good. Just wish I would have seen this post before I took the door panel off... Oh well...
