Samsung ml-1610 pulls in paper only half way then stops and red light turns on. I tried to restart printer, replace papers, put only one page, put many pages... nothing works.

see, you have inserted the paper well. if not solved, your catridge have low ink or empty. so bring a new catridge or if you can, refill the catridge. 1610 catridge can be easily refilled.

There are a series of rollers which are made of rubber in the unit. When these rollers become dry or covered with dust (usually from cheap paper) they arent able to pick up paper correctly any longer.

Think of it as though you are trying to turn a page, and you have to lick your finger to do so.

Its the same concept. When your printer grabs the paper, it cannot hold it while it is rolling it through the printer.

There are kits available through your manufacturer or a local print shop which can clean your printer and help to restore it to its working order.

It probably has a jam somewhere. Open each flap, remove the toner cartridge and check the paper path is clear.

it could well be a toner out problem, put paper in the tray and press the button for a second or two, if the light starts flashing and the printer prints a configuration page then its a certainty, also the config page will tell you if the toner is out

I had the same problem when a paper jammed and I have pulled it out. The red light came on and nothing worked. My solution was: I pulled out the tonner and put it back, opened all covers and closed it. All this apparently must be done with printed turned on (the same thing with printer turned off didn't work). Hope this helps.

try to rest the printer by opening the front cover (not the paper tray) and closing it again.

after checking no paper left on rollers etc, turn printer of for a while and then turn back on and press the paper release button

The online/error light is always red, and I can't print. I turn the printer off, change the toner and the light is still red, what can I do

this could probably caused by interrupted spooled jobs that was sent earlier, as i assumed, try pressing the cancel button on the printer itself, or from your pc cancel all documents.

if you cant recover still reset the printer once again and put some paper to finish the pending job that was qued earlier

I had this problem. The cancel button was stucked. Open the toner tray and slighly push the button side top-cover up. It released the cancel button for me (actually I was trying to open the top, but it worked). The cancel button was released and the blinking red-green stopped. Printer now working.
