Could be a bad preamp cable (the cable that goes from the machine to the actual sensor), bad sensor or you could be using the wrong cable/sensor for your machine. Even if all the pint line up for the connecters it may still fail. If you give me the serial number for your system and tell me if it is Masimo or Nellcor I can provide the right part numbers for the correct cable. At least you will have that as a starting point.

model of SpO2 monitor from Medline, the "err 7" means the sensor has reached its end of life functionality... Basically it means it is time to buy another SpO2 monitor. I have a dozen of these in a rehab facility and have to swap them out every couple of years when I get this error code. I found this out a few years ago from Medline Support. This is why the warranty is 2 years (works out well that way, don't you think?).
Hope that helps out some.. sorry for the bad news...Thanks!Stan Skaggs

An 8-pin DIN type or 9-pin sub miniature D (Nellcor) type female connector used to attach the SpO2 sensor assembly to the monitor is not present. Here's a link to the service manual for this device.Passport Service Manual

intermittent problem most likely caused by a faulty patient cable with is the cable that goes from the monitor to the sensor. could be a problem in the cable itself or the connecters on the cable. best bet is to try swapping a known good cable but make sure it is the right part number. Some cables will fit but not work right. i can offer more help at [email protected] I can supply new cables if nessesary.
